Wooden chalets, delicacies, and a carousel in the heart of Villejuif
Every December, Villejuif sets up its Christmas village with wooden chalets between the Monoprix parking lot and Rue Le-Bigot. Regional specialties, creators, entertainment, and an illuminated carousel welcome families in a festive setting. The "Christmas in Villejuif" program also offers activities in the town's food markets and a carousel in front of the town hall.
Every December, the town of Villejuif rolls out its festive program centered around a Christmas village set up in the heart of the commune. The wooden chalets, illuminated and decorated in holiday colors, welcome residents and visitors in a warm atmosphere conducive to shopping and discovery.
The Villejuif Christmas village offers a varied selection of producers, artisans, and merchants gathered under their wooden chalets. Among the specialties and products offered:
This gastronomic diversity reflects the cultural richness of Villejuif, a town with a strong multicultural identity, and allows visitors to travel through the stands and flavors.
The highlight of the Christmas market is a grand show combining sparkling dancers, fire-eaters, artistic face painting, clown acts, and balloon sculptors. This popular and free show attracts families and delights young and old in a festive fairground atmosphere.
A carousel is set up on the town hall square throughout the festive period. It operates every weekday evening and all day on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, allowing children to enjoy this traditional pleasure throughout December.
Light decorations, Christmas trees, and illuminations adorn the streets and squares of the town. Santa Claus's mailbox is installed on the carousel to collect children's letters.
As part of the "Christmas in Villejuif" program, the town's permanent food markets also participate in the festivities with Christmas activities and decorations in holiday colors. This "local Christmas" approach in the daily markets strengthens the link between local merchants and residents.
