The big punk and oi! ball of the Paris region
Created in 2019 by the associations BSC and Los Locos, Le Bal des Vauriens has quickly established itself as one of the most anticipated punk and oi! festivals in Île-de-France. Over the years, this extraordinary "ball" has hosted iconic bands from the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Spain, Wales, Switzerland, and of course, France, confirming the international scope of the event.
Located at Le Kilowatt, the former EDF power plant in Vitry-sur-Seine, the festival benefits from a unique industrial setting that perfectly matches the raw aesthetic of punk. The venue, with its impressive scale and working-class history, resonates as an invitation to popular and engaged celebration. Accessible on foot from the Les Ardoines station (RER C), the location attracts a diverse crowd of alternative music lovers from all over the region.
The #4 edition (May 2024) featured a high-quality international lineup, confirming the festival's growing reputation in punk and hardcore circles. Edition #5 (May 2-3, 2025) marked a new milestone with an exceptional two-night program: Friday, May 2nd featured Crux (UK), Soft Kill (USA), La Inquisicion (Catalonia), Condor (Paris), 45 Adapters (USA), The Damn Givers (Switzerland), and Videoflip (Lyon). On Saturday, May 3rd, festival-goers enjoyed The Oppressed (Wales), Frustration (Paris), Kaleko Urdangak (Basque Country), Syndrome 81 (Brest), Alvilda, Slugger (USA), The Enforcers (Canada), and Autolyse (Paris).
The sixth edition of Le Bal des Vauriens is scheduled for May 1st and 2nd, 2026. Friday, May 1st (public holiday) features GBH (legendary punks from Birmingham), Templars, Castillo, Colonna Infame, Fléau, The Slads, and Resilience. On Saturday, May 2nd, Giuda (Italy), Haywire, No Time, An Slua, Protex, Ras 84, Take It In Blood, Wrong Side, and Moldy complete a remarkable lineup. Two-day passes are available starting from €30.
Beyond the concerts, Le Bal des Vauriens perpetuates a punk tradition of self-managed, accessible events rooted in their territory. The festival is organized in a spirit of conviviality and sharing, with a "militant" bar and a popular festival atmosphere reminiscent of the great days of punk rock in the 1970s-1980s. An emerging institution for the alternative scene of Greater Paris.
