About Fête de la Musique of Saint-Gratien

Saint-Gratien, a residential town in the Val-d'Oise bordering the lake of Enghien-les-Bains, celebrates Fête de la Musique every June 21st in its parks and public spaces. This affluent and tree-lined town, known for its beautiful residences and gardens, hosts a friendly and high-quality musical evening mixing free concerts, musical entertainment, and performances by local talents.

Fête de la Musique in Saint-Gratien: Music by the Lake

Every June 21st, Saint-Gratien celebrates Fête de la Musique in an elegant and friendly atmosphere, characteristic of this residential town in the Val-d'Oise. Bordering the lake of Enghien-les-Bains and immediately adjacent to the spa town, Saint-Gratien benefits from an exceptional natural setting that gives the musical evenings of June 21st a particularly enchanting dimension.

The Lake of Enghien, a Shared Setting

Although the lake officially belongs to Enghien-les-Bains, Saint-Gratien is one of the bordering towns and benefits from its immediate proximity. The promenades and banks accessible from Saint-Gratien form a magnificent natural setting for summer evenings. During Fête de la Musique, concerts may be organized in areas offering a view of the lake, creating an atmosphere that is both romantic and festive.

The Municipal Park and the Town Center Celebrate

The municipal park of Saint-Gratien is the central location for the local Fête de la Musique. This beautiful tree-lined park, appreciated by residents for its walks and playgrounds, transforms for the evening of June 21st into an open-air concert venue. The main stage is set up on the central lawn, surrounded by ancient trees that create pleasant natural acoustics.

A Refined Program for a Residential Town

Fête de la Musique in Saint-Gratien reflects the residential and family character of the town. The program, demanding in artistic quality, offers:

  • Classical and chamber music in heritage sites
  • Jazz and bossa-nova for a lakeside ambiance
  • French songs and variety for all generations
  • Rock and pop with local bands
  • Concerts by students from the intercommunal conservatory

Saint-Gratien, Town of Residences and Celebrities

Saint-Gratien is a town known for its beautiful bourgeois residences and affluent villas, a legacy of a past when Parisians sought refuge there in the summer. The town has hosted many personalities from the arts and literature who appreciated its natural setting and serenity. Fête de la Musique perpetuates this tradition of artistic quality by offering a carefully curated program each year.

Free and Accessible for All

Despite its residential image, Saint-Gratien organizes a Fête de la Musique that is entirely free and open to all. The municipality is committed to ensuring that conviviality and universal access to musical culture are at the heart of the June 21st celebration, welcoming residents of all backgrounds in its parks and public spaces.
