As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms Vertou into an open-air stage to celebrate the summer solstice. Organized by the Ville de Vertou, the festival unfolds freely in the city center: local groups, amateur singers and musicians take turns on sound-equipped spaces, while merchants' terraces extend the atmosphere into the heart of the evening.

The City provides two sound-equipped spaces in the center of Vertou, on place Saint-Martin and on the forecourt of the cultural space Cour et Jardin, where a dozen amateur music groups perform. Events from the École de Musique et de Danse
On the occasion of the Fête de la Musique, the École de Musique et de Danse (EMD) of Vertou takes over the city center and various neighborhoods. Student dancers, children's choirs, and guitar ensembles perform at Libre Cour and its forecourt, while the EMD's ephemeral brass band travels through the city for concerts in several neighborhoods.
