L'Été audonien: Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine celebrates all summer long

Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, a city of 50,000 inhabitants on the outskirts of Paris, has been undergoing profound urban transformation for several years with the development of the new Docks district. This architectural renaissance is accompanied by cultural and festive effervescence that culminates each summer with L'Été audonien, a program of several weeks that turns the city into a festive playground for its residents.

From early July to late August, L'Été audonien offers free concerts, balls, neighborhood events, markets, and popular festivals in various parts of the city. This summer program is designed by the municipality with the support of local associations, and it has become an unmissable event on the Audonian calendar.

The July 13th Ball hosted by Radio Nova

One of the most festive and original moments of L'Été audonien is undoubtedly the July 13th Ball. Each year, the city invites Audonians to a grand popular ball at the Grand Parc, hosted by DJs selected by the iconic cultural radio station Radio Nova. Live concerts, DJ sets, and collective dances follow one another in an electric atmosphere, blending the tradition of popular balls with the modernity of current music.

Fireworks light up the Audonian night to beautifully conclude this republican celebration, which attracts several thousand residents from across the department each year.

The Landy Fair: a revived medieval tradition

In June, Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine revives a medieval tradition by organizing the Foire du Landy, around the Church of Vieux-Saint-Ouen (Place de l'Abbé Grégoire). This fair, reminiscent of the great medieval trade fair that attracted merchants from all over Europe in the Middle Ages, features medieval and contemporary music, tarantella dancing, collective picnics, crafts, and a producers' market. A festive and educational return to roots that appeals to all generations.

Neighborhood events and grand finale

Throughout the summer, the neighborhoods of Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine come alive with collective meals, local concerts, open-air cinema screenings, and creative or sports workshops organized by local associations. These neighborhood events foster social connections in each area and allow residents to gather in a festive and relaxed setting.

L'Été audonien traditionally concludes at the end of August with a grand Bouquet final, the last festive evening before the return to school, which brings residents together for an energetic and cheerful farewell to summer.
