The festival of Catalan flavors in the land of Byrrh
Thuir, historic capital of the Aspres and home to the famous Byrrh aperitif, hosts an annual terroir festival highlighting local products and Catalan gastronomic heritage.
The Caves Byrrh, founded in 1866, are a remarkable heritage site featuring the largest oak vat in the world with a capacity of 1,002,000 liters. It is in this unique setting that the terroir festival takes on its full meaning, celebrating the deep connection between the town and its wine tradition.
The festival brings together winegrowers from the Aspres, duck producers, cheesemakers, chocolatiers, and Catalan charcuterie makers. Visitors can taste local wines, discover regional gastronomic specialties, and enjoy musical entertainment in a friendly and festive atmosphere.
The Fête du Terroir de Thuir 2026 will bring together winegrowers, producers, and artisans from the Catalan region for a day of taste discoveries and entertainment.
By car: Thuir is located 15 km west of Perpignan, accessible via the D612a. Free parking in the village.
