Jazzèbre holds its 38th edition from September 24 to October 11, 2026, in Perpignan and the Pyrénées-Orientales: 28 events across eleven municipalities, including jazz concerts, musical readings, children's shows, musical picnics, and a film screening. Norwegian quintet Frode Haltli opens the festival at the Forteresse de Salses on September 24, and Algerian singer Souad Massi closes it at the Théâtre de l'Archipel on October 11.

Jazzèbre 2026: The 38th Edition

Jazzèbre holds its 38th edition from September 24 to October 11, 2026, across Perpignan and ten other municipalities in the Pyrénées-Orientales: Salses-le-Château, Port-Vendres, Olette, Opoul-Périllos, Cabestany, Alénya, Sorède, Thuir, Eus, and Sainte-Colombe-de-la-Commanderie. Twenty-eight events are scheduled: concerts, musical readings, children's shows, musical picnics, a film screening, and a museum tour.

Opening and Closing

Frode Haltli and his Avant Folk quintet open the festival on September 24 at 8:00 PM at the Forteresse de Salses. Souad Massi closes it on October 11 at 6:00 PM at the Théâtre de l'Archipel in Perpignan, featuring the repertoire from "Zagate," her eleventh album released in March 2026.

Two dates before the festival

Two events linked to the 2026 edition precede the opening: the duo La Chaloupante on September 5 in Sainte-Colombe-de-la-Commanderie, as a carte blanche for the Courts Circuit 66 Festival, and the presentation evening on September 17 at La Casa Musicale in Perpignan, followed by a concert by Camille Maussion.

Around the concerts

La Grande Fanfare, a collective of over 60 amateur musicians led by Daniel Malavergne for nearly thirty years, will hold public rehearsals on September 26 and October 3 before performing at the festival's two picnics in Olette and Sorède. La Casa Bicicleta is organizing three bike rides departing from the Castillet in Perpignan: to Salses on September 24, Alénya on October 3, and Sorède on October 4. Carpooling can be booked directly via the festival's ticketing service.

Jazzèbre: Nomadic musical adventures in Catalan country

Since 1989, Jazzèbre has animated the cultural season in Perpignan with the sound of jazz and world music. This nomadic festival takes place for nearly three weeks between September and October in multiple venues in Perpignan, the Pyrénées-Orientales, and the Aude, promoting an open and generous vision of music.

A program between jazz and world music

The Jazzèbre program explores the most diverse musical territories: contemporary jazz, improvised music, world music, flamenco, African music, Mediterranean creations, and traditional Catalan music. The festival brings together established artists and young talents, local musicians and international artists, in a spirit of meeting and discovery.

Jazz Tuesdays

Throughout the year, Jazzèbre extends the festival's spirit with Jazz Tuesdays, regular concert evenings at the Casa Musicale in Perpignan, allowing the public to discover artists in an intimate and friendly setting.

Multiple venues for nomadic music

True to its subtitle of 'nomadic musical adventures', Jazzèbre takes over a wide variety of venues:

  • La Casa Musicale: emblematic venue of the festival in Perpignan
  • Le Théâtre de l'Archipel: national stage of Perpignan
  • Churches, chapels, and castles in the department
  • Cooperative wineries and vineyards
  • Outdoor stages in the villages of the Pyrénées-Orientales and Aude

The STRASS association: a permanent commitment

Organized by the STRASS association, based at Maison Jazzèbre at 18 rue Rempart Villeneuve in Perpignan, the festival is part of a permanent cultural action in the region. The association offers concerts, workshops, artist residencies, and cultural mediation activities throughout the year.

A cross-border festival

Located in the heart of Catalan country, Jazzèbre naturally cultivates ties with Spanish Catalonia, regularly inviting artists from Barcelona, Girona, and the entire Iberian Peninsula, and participating in cross-border cultural projects.
