Place au Terroir — 2026 Edition

The 2026 edition of Place au Terroir features 19 itinerant evenings, from May 22, 2026 to January 17, 2027, across 19 communes of the Hérault Valley. Each event celebrates local heritage by bringing together producers, artisans, and winegrowers for a convivial gathering.

Each evening offers a producers' market, wine tastings with local winegrowers, creative workshops (pottery, clay modelling), live music, guided heritage tours, and on-site catering. The Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert / Vallée de l'Hérault Tourist Office, which organises the event, also runs a stand at every date to advise and guide visitors.

Place au Terroir is designed as much more than a simple night market: it is an opportunity to meet directly with the people who make the territory come alive — winegrowers, market gardeners, cheesemakers, brewers, potters — and to discover their craft in a relaxed atmosphere, with family or friends.

Place au Terroir: an itinerant festival in the Hérault Valley

Place au Terroir is an event organised by the Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert / Vallée de l'Hérault Tourist Office. The concept: a series of friendly evenings that successively set up in different communes of the territory, meeting local producers, artisans, and winegrowers.

Much more than a night market

Place au Terroir is designed as a true encounter experience. Visitors step into the world of those who keep local heritage alive: winegrowers, market gardeners, cheesemakers, brewers, potters… Beyond tasting and shopping, it is the direct exchanges and the sharing of know-how that characterise these evenings.

Activities and atmosphere

Each evening combines a producers' market, wine tastings, creative workshops (pottery, clay modelling), live music, guided heritage tours, and on-site catering. The evening format invites you to come with family or friends and enjoy a relaxed, festive atmosphere.

A living territory

The Hérault Valley is a region of exceptional richness — vineyards, olive groves, garrigue, and characterful villages, some classified among the most beautiful in France. Place au Terroir highlights this diversity by rotating its evenings from village to village, giving each date its own distinctive flavour depending on the host commune.
