The Mirondela dels Arts in Pézenas
The Mirondela dels Arts is a major cultural event in Pézenas, a town of art and history in Hérault, Occitanie region. Founded in 1967 under the impetus of Henri Domens, Gabriel Lanet and Gérard Vogel-Singer, then members of the Amis de Pézenas association, the event became an independent association in 2005. The name is of Occitan origin: « faire mirondela » means « to parade » — the Mirondela dels Arts is therefore « the exhibition of the arts ».
A multidisciplinary festival
Far from being limited to a single genre, the Mirondela dels Arts offers a deliberately eclectic program: boulevard theatre, comedy, one-man-shows, humour, classical music, gospel, flamenco, jazz, dance, musical comedy, painting and sculpture exhibitions, craft demonstrations. The stated objective of the association is to promote « art in all its forms, for everyone's pleasure ».
An event spanning several months
Unlike a festival concentrated over a few days, the Mirondela dels Arts stretches over the entire summer season, generally from July to September, with an exhibition component open from June. Live performances mainly take place at the Théâtre de Verdure in Pézenas and in the Sans-Souci park, while exhibitions occupy the ephemeral gallery and several heritage sites in the old town centre.
A cultural actor rooted in Pézenas
The association is based at Maison Mirondela, 6 rue Four de la Ville. Its new president, Olivier Roque, was elected at the general assembly on February 10, 2026. The Mirondela dels Arts is supported by the City of Pézenas, the Hérault Department, the Occitanie Region, and numerous local private partners. Tickets are available at the Pézenas-Val d'Hérault Tourist Office and at the Theatre box office, in addition to online sales via Billetweb and Helloasso.

Mirondela dels Arts 2026 — 60th Anniversary Edition
The 2026 edition of the Mirondela dels Arts marks the 60th anniversary of the event, founded in 1967 by Henri Domens, Gabriel Lanet, and Gérard Vogel-Singer. This anniversary season runs from July to September 2026 in Pézenas, under the new presidency of Olivier Roque, elected in February 2026.
An Exceptional Summer Season
The inauguration on July 5th, 2026, will open the season with the traditional parade of Pézenas' poulain, a visit to artisans, a traditional show, a convivial aperitif, and the opening concert “En Passant,” a tribute to Jean-Jacques Goldman. Highlights will include Liane Foly's interactive show “La Folle Repart en Thèse” (July 23rd) and the theatrical comedy “Le Cas Martin Piché” by Jacques Mougenot (August 6th). Exhibitions open at the ephemeral gallery and continue until September.
