About Festin de Rue
A free street arts festival hosted by the City of Saint-Jean-de-Védas in the Hérault region, taking place over a weekend in September. Enjoy two days of free performances including theater, dance, circus acts, acrobatics, puppetry, brass bands, and concerts held throughout the town center.
Festin de Rue — edition 2026
Festin de Rue takes place in Saint-Jean-de-Védas on Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13, 2026. The City is hosting 30 free shows (theater, circus, dance, puppetry, brass bands) across fourteen locations in the town center, with a closing concert each evening: Yog on Saturday at 11:00 PM and Les Barbeaux on Sunday at 9:00 PM, at place du Puits de Gaud.
2026 Edition
On Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13, 2026, the City of Saint-Jean-de-Védas brings Festin de Rue to the streets and squares of the town center. Thirty shows are on the bill, performed by as many companies: theater, circus, dance, puppetry, pole dance, mime, juggling, brass bands, and roaming performances. Admission is free for all shows.
The shows are spread across fourteen locations: Louis Germain middle school courtyard, Town Hall courtyard, place Victor Hugo, place de la Liberté, place du Puits de Gaud, Puits de Gaud playground, Jean-Baptiste Mirallès gym track, domaine Le Claud, avenue Georges Clemenceau, avenue de la Libération, rue Auguste Renoir, rue Fon de l'Hospital, rue Paul Gauguin, and Anita Gil school. The first show starts at 10:30 AM on Saturday and 10:00 AM on Sunday.
Two closing concerts
Yog performs Flokness II on Saturday at 11:00 PM at place du Puits de Gaud. Les Barbeaux close the festival with Bomba ! on Sunday at 9:00 PM, at the same location.
IN and OFF selections
The program includes an IN selection and an OFF selection. Companies in the OFF selection perform for free; a hat collection is offered to the public at the end of their show to help cover their expenses.
Eco-responsible labeling in progress
In 2026, Festin de Rue is aiming for the Level 1 label from the Elémen'terre association, which would allow it to join the Événements Détonnants d'Occitanie network. The festival provides dry toilets and drinking water fountains, reduces its paper communication materials, works with local producers and businesses, and creates its sets and furniture from recycled objects.
