A weekend of celebration in the village of Naussac

Each summer, the small village of Naussac, nestled by its large lake, comes alive for a festive weekend organized by the Comité des Fêtes de Naussac-Fontanes. This popular family event brings together the commune's residents, second-home owners, and holidaymakers in a spirit of conviviality and sharing.

A rich and varied program

The festival takes place over two days with a program of activities for all ages:

  • Pétanque competition in the afternoon, open to all doubles teams
  • Flea market allowing bargain hunters to find treasures
  • Vehicle exhibition of vintage and sports cars in the village square
  • Lunch with a hearty paella
  • Musical evening hosted by local bands
  • Fireworks display launched from the lake shores on Sunday evening

Lake Naussac, the natural setting for the festival

Lake Naussac provides the magnificent backdrop for this village festival. This reservoir, covering over 1,000 hectares, located in Margeride at an altitude of 930 meters, is one of the largest artificial lakes in the Massif Central. It offers a striking panorama of mountains and forests and is a popular spot for water activities, fishing, and hiking.

Fireworks over the lake

The highlight of the weekend is undoubtedly the fireworks display on Sunday evening, launched from the lake's shores. The luminous bursts reflecting in the calm waters of the lake create a magical spectacle that concludes the festivities in style.

Other events in Naussac

The Comité des Fêtes de Naussac-Fontanes also organizes other events throughout the year, such as the Fête du Pain (Bread Festival) with traditional village oven baking, the nature race Naussac Run Nature around the lake, and various festive evenings. These events contribute to the social and cultural life of this commune in Haute-Lozère.
