Festive weekend by Lake Naussac
The Fête du Village de Naussac is a friendly summer event organized annually by the Comité des Fêtes de Naussac-Fontanes. Over two days, this popular event brings together locals and visitors for various activities: pétanque competition, flea market, exhibition of old and sports vehicles, lunch (paella), musical evening, and a fireworks display from the shores of Lake Naussac to end the weekend in style. This village festival embodies the spirit of conviviality and sharing characteristic of the rural communes of Lozère.
Each summer, the small village of Naussac, nestled by its large lake, comes alive for a festive weekend organized by the Comité des Fêtes de Naussac-Fontanes. This popular family event brings together the commune's residents, second-home owners, and holidaymakers in a spirit of conviviality and sharing.
The festival takes place over two days with a program of activities for all ages:
Lake Naussac provides the magnificent backdrop for this village festival. This reservoir, covering over 1,000 hectares, located in Margeride at an altitude of 930 meters, is one of the largest artificial lakes in the Massif Central. It offers a striking panorama of mountains and forests and is a popular spot for water activities, fishing, and hiking.
The highlight of the weekend is undoubtedly the fireworks display on Sunday evening, launched from the lake's shores. The luminous bursts reflecting in the calm waters of the lake create a magical spectacle that concludes the festivities in style.
The Comité des Fêtes de Naussac-Fontanes also organizes other events throughout the year, such as the Fête du Pain (Bread Festival) with traditional village oven baking, the nature race Naussac Run Nature around the lake, and various festive evenings. These events contribute to the social and cultural life of this commune in Haute-Lozère.
The Fête du Village de Naussac returns for summer 2026 with its usual program of activities: pétanque, flea market, meal, musical evening, and fireworks by the lake.
