Fête Romaine d'Elusa
The Roman festival of Eauze, ancient Elusa
2026
About Fêtes d'Eauze
The Elusa Roman Festival brings the ancient city of Elusa, the former capital of Novempopulania, back to life at the Domus de Cieutat in Eauze (Gers). Organized by ELUSA Capitale Antique, which manages the city's archaeological sites, the event takes place over a weekend in July and features gladiators, legionnaires, an artisan village, Roman games, and live performances.
Fêtes d'Eauze — edition 2026
On July 18 and 19, 2026, the Domus de Cieutat in Eauze transforms into a Gallo-Roman city. Gladiators and legionnaires will be in action throughout the day, Garrulus will welcome visitors into his home for a theatrical tour, and on Sunday, riders will perform spectacular ancient-style equestrian stunts.
The Elusa Roman Festival takes place on Saturday, July 18, and Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the Domus de Cieutat in Eauze, starting at 10:00 AM. The event is organized by ELUSA Capitale Antique, with Novempopulana and the collaboration of ECLA d'Eauze.
Children can try their hand at sword fighting in the "Les petits glaives" workshops, get their faces painted on Sunday, and play ancient board games on Saturday with the Eauze toy library. The artisan village brings together metalworkers, woodworkers, potters, mosaic artists, and other skilled craftspeople. On Saturday, the Roman fashion show will unveil the "Spring-Summer 2026" trends. Food trucks will be on-site for refreshments.
