Grand free music event in the streets and squares of Blois every June 21st
The Fête de la Musique in Blois is a major event in the Blois cultural calendar. Every June 21st, the royal city vibrates to the rhythm of over thirty musical events scattered throughout all the districts, from the banks of the Loire to the squares of the historic center, from the courtyard of the Royal Château to the Halle aux Grains. Electro stages, classical choirs, brass bands, world music, rock, French chanson, and DJ performances take over public spaces until the heart of the night. This free event, open to all, celebrates musical diversity and highlights local talents as well as invited artists.
Every June 21st, the city of Blois celebrates the Fête de la Musique with a profusion of concerts, events, and musical performances spread across all districts. From the banks of the Loire to the squares of the historic center, over thirty events unfold until the heart of the night, offering an exceptional panorama of musical diversity.
The most emblematic places in Blois are transformed into open-air stages. The courtyard of the Royal Château hosts performances by the Blois-Agglopolys conservatory and the Blois Harmony orchestra. The Halle aux Grains schedules major concerts with prestigious ensembles. Place Gaudet becomes a must-see stage in collaboration with the Chato'do, the contemporary music center of Loir-et-Cher.
Place Louis-XII showcases world music with various groups: electro-pop, samba, jazz, and many others. Place de la Résistance highlights local and emerging young talents. The Port de la Creusille, along the Loire, vibrates to the sounds of dub and electronic music until 1 am with sound systems and invited artists.
The axis of the streets Porte-Côté and Denis-Papin is closed to traffic from the afternoon to make way for musicians and the public. Brass bands, choirs, rock bands, and street artists take over the alleys, terraces, and squares, creating a unique and joyful atmosphere. The event is entirely free and accessible to all.
The Fête de la Musique in Blois is organized by the City of Blois with the participation of the Chato'do, the Conservatoire de Blois-Agglopolys, the Halle aux Grains - Scène nationale, and numerous local music associations. It benefits from the support of the Ministry of Culture as part of the national Fête de la Musique.
The Fête de la Musique is held every year on June 21st (or the closest Saturday if June 21st falls on a Sunday).
Concerts take place in multiple locations throughout the city:
Concerts start in the late afternoon and continue until midnight, or even 1 am at the Port de la Creusille. The axis of Rue Porte-Côté/Denis-Papin is closed to traffic from 2 pm.
All concerts and events are completely free.
