The Fête de Lisses: a popular fair in the heart of Essonne
The town of Lisses (91090) is a commune in the Évry-Courcouronnes agglomeration, in Essonne, known for its high-level sports facilities and its dynamic associations. Every year in June, it hosts its grand communal festival, a popular event that has been a rhythm of life in the district and the commune for many years.
The funfair: an unmissable tradition
One of the most emblematic elements of the Fête de Lisses is its annual funfair, set up at the Complexe sportif Stéphane Diagana (avenue des Parcs / rue de Paris). Authorized by the municipality for a four-day operation every second week of June, this fair hosts showmen and rides in a safe and lively setting.
On Friday, the funfair opens its doors at 4 PM, offering children a first evening of wonder before the weekend. On Saturday, the entertainment is at its peak from 2 PM until 1 AM, allowing all generations to enjoy the attractions and festive atmosphere. On Sunday, the fair closes in a calmer atmosphere from 2 PM to 7 PM, allowing for a last family outing before the week.
This funfair is a highly anticipated event for Lisses families, who find the flavors and emotions of the traditional fair: rides for young and old, candy stands, skill games, a bright and musical atmosphere that fills the June evenings.
The communal festival: much more than just the fair
Beyond the funfair, the Fête de Lisses offers a complete program of communal entertainment. The town's associations actively participate by setting up stands and organizing their own events on the sidelines of the official festivities. The Lisses associative fabric, particularly active in sports and culture, contributes to making this festival a true community event.
The town also organizes other highlights throughout the year: seasonal festivals, sporting events, and cultural entertainment that testify to the vitality of a commune attached to its quality of life.
The Complexe Stéphane Diagana: an iconic venue
The Complexe sportif Stéphane Diagana, named after the 400-meter hurdles world champion, is one of Lisses' flagship facilities. This high-quality sports complex hosts numerous competitions and training sessions outside of festival periods. Its outdoor space, located on avenue des Parcs, is ideally placed to host open-air events such as the annual funfair.
Lisses in the Grand Paris Sud agglomeration
Lisses is a member commune of the Grand Paris Sud Seine-Essonne-Sénart intercommunal structure. Its proximity to Évry-Courcouronnes and major transport routes (A6, N7) makes it easily accessible from all of Essonne and southern Île-de-France. The communal festival benefits from this prime geographical location to attract visitors from neighboring towns.
