Singing and vocal music festival in the Templar city
"Y'a d'la Voix !" is a singing and vocal music festival organized every year in June in La Couvertoirade, a fortified medieval city in the Larzac region of Aveyron. For two days, the alleys of the Templar city echo with traditional French songs, partisan songs, comic songs, and great classics of French chanson. Spectators become performers during daily singing events, in an exceptional heritage setting.
Every year in June, the festival "Y'a d'la Voix !" takes over the medieval streets of La Couvertoirade, a magnificent fortified city on the Larzac plateau in Aveyron. This original vocal music festival transforms one of France's most beautiful Templar cities into a vast open-air theater where the human voice reigns supreme and where every spectator is invited to become a singer.
The festival offers four daily singing events where participants gather to sing together in the village's emblematic locations: traditional French songs, partisan and revolutionary songs, comic songs from the 1930s-1940s, and great classics of popular song. Street performers and professional singers mingle with the public in a participatory and friendly spirit.
On Saturday evening, a rustic meal accompanied by performances by award-winning street singers brings festival-goers together within the medieval walls. On Sunday evening, a buffet aperitif concludes the festival with a final moment of collective singing. The exceptional setting of La Couvertoirade — its ramparts, its towers, its fortified church, and its stone houses — offers a magical and intimate atmosphere at every moment of the festival.
"Y'a d'la Voix !" is part of the cultural dynamic of Larzac and its characteristic villages. Supported by the association Larzac Sports et Loisirs, the festival promotes French popular vocal heritage while offering visitors a unique experience in a place listed among the most beautiful in France.
The 2026 edition of "Y'a d'la Voix !" is expected on June 20 and 21, 2026, in La Couvertoirade, for the Fête de la Musique weekend. Singing events, street vocal performances, and a meal-show in the Templar city of Larzac.
