Pirate Adventure at Canet Port

Every summer, the port of Canet-en-Roussillon transforms into a buccaneer's lair for an afternoon. The Pirates Festival, part of the Festi Kids program, immerses visitors in the world of Pirates of the Caribbean with an immersive show combining land and sea. Captain Jack must save a princess from a curse cast by Captain Kraken: this is the thread of this colorful family adventure.

A Spectacular Maritime Show

The highlight of the festival is the nautical show in the outer harbor: a ballet of Catalan boats and old rigs stages a full-scale pirate attack. The heritage boats from the Vieux Gréements de Canet association and the Contrebandiers de Banyuls offer an impressive visual spectacle, with sword fights, boarding, and cannon fire against the backdrop of the Mediterranean.

Entertainment and Workshops for Children

Around the port, creative workshops allow young sailors to make their pirate bandanas, get their faces painted as buccaneers, and participate in treasure hunts. Surprises and street entertainment complete the program, in a festive and family-friendly atmosphere typical of the summer events of this Catalan seaside resort.

A Unifying Event

The Pirates Festival is organized in partnership by the port of Canet, Canet Tourisme, the Vieux Gréements de Canet association, the Contrebandiers de Banyuls, the Canétoise Féerique et Fantastique association, and the Magic Stars company. This collaboration between maritime heritage and live performance stakeholders makes the Pirates Festival one of the most anticipated events of the Canet summer.
