Music Sun & Sea is the premier summer music festival in Canet-en-Roussillon, featuring free open-air concerts at the Théâtre de la Mer, right on the Mediterranean coast. Launched in 2021, this essential Catalan summer event hosts around ten evenings between mid-July and mid-August, showcasing nationally and internationally renowned artists. From French pop and rock to funk, jazz, and world music, the festival offers an eclectic lineup in a unique setting, with your feet in the sand and a stunning sea view.

6th Edition — Summer 2026

Music Sun & Sea returns for its 6th edition from July 13 to August 16, 2026, in Canet-en-Roussillon. The program features ten free concert evenings, mostly held at the Théâtre de la Mer, a natural amphitheater set on the main beach below the Place Méditerranée: tiered seating facing the open sea, a stage built on the sand, and the Mediterranean as a stunning backdrop.

The lineup blends French chanson, pop, rock, jazz, and family entertainment, featuring Cœur de Pirate, Hélène Ségara, Axel Bauer, Charlie Winston, Chantal Goya joined by Douchka and Bernard Minet, the Gead Mulheran and the Brass Messengers big band, the parody tribute act ACϟDÇU, the "Back to 90" night, and a disco-themed closing performance by Boney M Legend.

Doors open at 8:00 PM, with concerts starting at 9:30 PM. Admission is free, no booking required, with open seating. The opening night on July 13 will feature fireworks around 11:00 PM followed by a DJ set. Two special evenings, July 13 and August 16, will take place at the Place Méditerranée.

Access

By car: Canet-en-Roussillon is accessible from Perpignan via the D617 (about 15 minutes). Parking is available near the Théâtre de la Mer.

By bus: Bus lines from Perpignan (Sankéo network).

By train: Perpignan SNCF train station, then take a bus or shuttle to Canet-en-Roussillon.

Concert Venue

Théâtre de la Mer, on the main beach of Canet-Plage, below the Place Méditerranée (access via Avenue de la Méditerranée / Promenade de la Côte Vermeille), 66140 Canet-en-Roussillon. A few evenings are exceptionally held on the Place Méditerranée itself.

All concerts are free and do not require reservations. Seating is unreserved. Doors open at 8:00 PM, and concerts start at 9:30 PM.

An eclectic and prestigious lineup

Over the years, the festival has welcomed top-tier artists such as Yannick Noah, Michel Fugain, Jean-Baptiste Guégan, Cali accompanied by the Big Band Brass, Nâdiya, Billy Crawford, and the piano prodigy Nirek Mokar with his Boogie Messengers. The program blends French variety, pop, rock, reggae, ska, jazz, funk, boogie-woogie, and Latin music.

The Théâtre de la Mer, located on the main beach of Canet-Plage below the Place Méditerranée, offers an incomparable backdrop: the seating faces the open sea and the stage is built right on the sand, with the shimmering Mediterranean as a backdrop. Seating is unreserved, with your feet in the sand. The atmosphere is festive and family-friendly, reflecting the warm, welcoming spirit of this Catalan seaside resort.
