About Summer Concert

Every season, the Concert d'été festival brings together ensembles of early and classical music alongside poetry readings in Palau-del-Vidre, all centered around the theme of "Mediterranean Faces." The event pays tribute to the Roussillon poet Josep Sebastià Pons, whose collection of short stories, Concert d'été, inspired the name of the founding association. Concerts are held in various village venues, including the Sainte-Marie de l'Assomption church, the Espace Pierre-Jonquères-d'Oriola, and the Domaine Sant-Galdric.

Summer Concert — edition 2026

For its 27th edition, the Concert d'été festival in Palau-del-Vidre explores the theme of "The Night" through six concerts held between June and September at the Sainte-Marie de l'Assomption church, the Sant-Galdric estate, and the Espace Pierre-Jonquères-d'Oriola. The Barcelona Sax Quartet and the Italian ensemble Orfeo Futuro are among the guests for this season, which focuses on early and classical music interwoven with poetic readings.

A season of six concerts

The 27th edition runs from June 28 to September 19, 2026, with approximately one concert per month across various village venues. The concert-performance Sofonisba, la longue nuit de l'oubli, created by Christine Kobus for the La Mécanique des airs company, highlights lesser-known female composers of the Renaissance. The Italian ensemble Orfeo Futuro, founded in 2019 at the Venice Biennale and associated with the Anima Mea festival, will close the season on September 19 with a program of Baroque sonatas.

Proceeds from the concerts and association memberships support the festival, whose honorary president is flamenco guitarist Pedro Soler.
