2026 Edition: Seven concerts, every weekend in September
The 18th edition of Notes d'Écume runs from Friday, September 4 to Sunday, September 27, 2026. Staying true to its spread-out format, the festival doesn't pack its schedule into a few days; instead, it hosts an event every weekend in September, primarily at the Espace Henry de Monfreid in Port-Leucate, with a special stop at the Église Notre-Dame de l'Assomption in Leucate Village.
Eclectic spirit, from string quartets to chanson
The opening on September 4 sets the tone with Quatuor Opale, traversing centuries of music by connecting Mozart, Borodine, and Shostakovich to the film scores of Morricone and Zimmer, and even Queen and ABBA. The following day, the I Got Life Quintet pays tribute to Nina Simone. The second weekend brings voice and movement together: Noëmi Waysfeld performs Barbara on September 11 with Guillaume de Chassy on piano and Leïla Soldevila on double bass, followed by Dance Journeys on September 12, where dancer Virginie Baïet-Dartigalongue joins the accordion of Grégory Daltin and the clarinets of François Pascal.
Christian-Pierre La Marca, guest for two evenings
Cellist Christian-Pierre La Marca takes center stage for the third weekend. On September 18, he presents Wonderful World, a program accompanied by footage from Yann Arthus-Bertrand's film La Terre vue du ciel and text readings, ranging from Fauré to Einaudi. On September 19, he performs solo in the resonant acoustics of the Leucate Village church, playing Bach's Cello Suites, complemented by pieces from Marin Marais, Pablo Casals, and Giovanni Sollima. The festival concludes on Sunday, September 27 at 6:00 PM with The Flame of Céline Dion, an acoustic candlelight tribute led by Anne-Laure Triebel.

Tickets can be purchased online via the festival website (Billetweb), or at the Port-Leucate Tourist Office and the Leucate Village information point. The venue opens 45 minutes before each concert. Admission is free for those under 18, subject to mandatory reservation and availability.

A Classical Music Festival Facing the Sea
Founded in 2009, the Notes d'Ecume festival was born from the passion of Pierre-Antoine Devic and the association Notes d'Ecume for classical music and jazz. Located in Leucate and Port-Leucate, in the Aude region, it offers a series of concerts every September in the heritage and cultural sites of the area: the Espace Henry de Monfreid, the church of Leucate, and Le Poulpe in Leucate Plage. The co-production between the association and the City of Leucate ensures strong local roots and accessibility for all.
From Lyrical to Jazz, an Eclectic Program
The Notes d'Ecume program is distinguished by its eclecticism and artistic quality. From Monteverdi to Michel Berger, from brass to strings, from intimate recitals to symphonic concerts, the festival explores all facets of scholarly and popular music. The repertoire ranges from opera and baroque music to contemporary creations, including jazz and chanson. Each edition is built around a thematic thread that gives coherence and depth to the programming.
Image and Music: A Singular Identity
One of the unique features of Notes d'Ecume is the importance given to visuals: video projections accompany some concerts on the screen of the Espace Henry de Monfreid, creating a dialogue between music and visual arts. This multidisciplinary dimension enriches the spectator's experience and gives the festival a unique identity in the regional music scene. Concerts mainly take place on weekends in September, with a New Year's concert in January that concludes the season.
Excellence and Mediterranean Conviviality
Notes d'Ecume cultivates a spirit of conviviality that is its hallmark: concerts are followed by moments of exchange between artists and the public, spectators are welcomed in a warm atmosphere, and prices remain accessible (free for under 18s). The festival contributes to the cultural radiance of Leucate, a seaside resort renowned for its water sports spots, by adding a leading musical and artistic dimension.
