Vendanges en Fête: The Celebration of Banyuls Terroir
Since 1996, Vendanges en Fête has transformed the Catalan port of Banyuls-sur-Mer into a grand celebration of wine and terroir. Born from the initiative of the Vial Magnères estate, this event was an immediate success and has continued to grow over the years, becoming a must-attend autumn event in the Pyrénées-Orientales.
The Winegrowers' Village
At the heart of the festival, the Winegrowers' Village brings together fifteen winegrowers from the Banyuls and Collioure appellations. They welcome visitors in chalets, offering tastings of the best wines from each estate in a festive and friendly atmosphere. It's a unique opportunity to meet the producers and discover the richness of the terraced vineyards.
A Gourmet and Festive Program
The five days of Vendanges en Fête offer a varied program: a market of local producers in the town center streets, tastings of seafood and AOC wines, oenological masterclasses, culinary workshops, gastronomic meals "Toques et Vignerons" associating chefs and winegrowers, sunset cruises with tastings, vineyard hikes, and musical performances.
The Arrival of the Harvest by Sea
The highlight of the event is the arrival of the harvest by sea in traditional Catalan boats, a picturesque and moving spectacle that recalls the inseparable link between Banyuls-sur-Mer, its vineyards, and the Mediterranean.
