Grape harvest and vineyard festival of Banyuls-sur-Mer
Created in 1996 on the initiative of the Vial Magnères estate, Vendanges en Fête is a festival celebrating the grape harvest and the wine-growing terroir of Banyuls-sur-Mer. For five days in early October, the small Catalan port lives to the rhythm of vines and wine through numerous festive and gourmet events: producers' market in the town center streets, seafood and AOC Banyuls and Collioure wine tastings, meals and taste workshops, shows and brass bands, vineyard hikes, and the arrival of the harvest by sea in Catalan boats. The Winegrowers' Village brings together fifteen winegrowers offering tastings in a festive atmosphere.
Since 1996, Vendanges en Fête has transformed the Catalan port of Banyuls-sur-Mer into a grand celebration of wine and terroir. Born from the initiative of the Vial Magnères estate, this event was an immediate success and has continued to grow over the years, becoming a must-attend autumn event in the Pyrénées-Orientales.
At the heart of the festival, the Winegrowers' Village brings together fifteen winegrowers from the Banyuls and Collioure appellations. They welcome visitors in chalets, offering tastings of the best wines from each estate in a festive and friendly atmosphere. It's a unique opportunity to meet the producers and discover the richness of the terraced vineyards.
The five days of Vendanges en Fête offer a varied program: a market of local producers in the town center streets, tastings of seafood and AOC wines, oenological masterclasses, culinary workshops, gastronomic meals "Toques et Vignerons" associating chefs and winegrowers, sunset cruises with tastings, vineyard hikes, and musical performances.
The highlight of the event is the arrival of the harvest by sea in traditional Catalan boats, a picturesque and moving spectacle that recalls the inseparable link between Banyuls-sur-Mer, its vineyards, and the Mediterranean.
The 2026 edition of Vendanges en Fête is scheduled for early October 2026 in Banyuls-sur-Mer. Program to be announced.
