Languedoc wines in the spotlight

The Carcassonne Wine Festival is the premier autumn gathering for wine lovers in the Aude region. Every October, Place Carnot, the historic heart of the Bastide Saint-Louis, transforms into a vast open-air tasting space. Winemakers, wine merchants, and local producers—over thirty during the 2025 edition—invite visitors to discover or rediscover the viticultural treasures of the Languedoc: AOC Cabardès, Minervois, Corbières, Malepère, IGP Pays d'Oc, and many other appellations that have built the reputation of the Aude vineyards.

Tastings and local gastronomy

Beyond wine tasting, the Wine Festival is a true moment of gourmet sharing. The stands offer gourmet plates and regional specialties that pair perfectly with local vintages: local charcuterie, cheeses, cassoulet, olive products, artisanal jams, and other delights from the Aude. Visitors can curate their own gastronomic journey from stand to stand, glass in hand, in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. In 2025, the festivities kicked off on Thursday, October 16th at 6:30 PM, followed by a complimentary welcome drink.

Music and festive entertainment

Each evening of the Wine Festival is punctuated by a varied and lively musical program. Brass bands roam between the stands, musical groups perform on stage—pop-rock, jazz, Latin music—and DJ sets keep the festive spirit going until midnight. In 2024, the musical lineup included the Roger Brass Band, The Manchester Men (pop-rock), and DJ Yakari; in 2022, about fifty stands hosted Macadam Farmer, DJ Brams, N.A.T, David Randy, the Duo Stil, and the Rayz brothers, with all concerts being free. This blend of wine, gastronomy, and music makes the Wine Festival a popular and unifying event.

An exceptional wine region

The Carcassonne Wine Festival is set within a wine-growing territory of exceptional richness. The Aude department is one of France's largest wine producers, with over 50,000 hectares of vineyards and a dozen protected designations of origin. The event, initiated by the City of Carcassonne in collaboration with the Aude Chamber of Agriculture, helps promote this viticultural heritage to both locals and tourists in a spirit of conviviality and discovery.
