Celebration of Languedoc wines in the heart of Bastide Saint-Louis
The Fête du Vin de Carcassonne is an oenological and festive event organized each autumn by the City of Carcassonne in collaboration with the Chamber of Agriculture of the Aude. For two evenings in October, Place Carnot hosts about sixty stands of winemakers, wine merchants, and local producers offering tastings, gourmet plates, and regional specialties. The evenings are enlivened by bandas, musical groups, and DJ sets in a friendly and festive atmosphere.
The Fête du Vin de Carcassonne is the major autumn event for wine lovers in the Aude. Every October, the Place Carnot, the historic heart of Bastide Saint-Louis, transforms into a vast open-air tasting space. More than sixty stands from winemakers, wine merchants, and local producers invite visitors to discover or rediscover the wine riches of the Languedoc: AOP Cabardès, Minervois, Corbières, Malepère, Cité de Carcassonne, Limoux, and many other appellations that make the Aude vineyard renowned.
Beyond wine tasting, the Fête du Vin is a true moment of gourmet sharing. The stands offer gourmet plates and regional specialties that perfectly complement local wines: local charcuterie, cheeses, cassoulet, olive products, artisanal jams, and other Aude delicacies. Visitors can thus create a true gastronomic journey through the stands, glass in hand, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The inauguration, followed by a complimentary reception drink, traditionally kicks off the festivities at 6:30 PM.
Each evening of the Fête du Vin is marked by a varied and lively musical program. Bandas wander among the stands, musical groups perform on stage—pop-rock, jazz, Latin music—and DJ sets extend the festive atmosphere until midnight. In 2024, the musical program included the Roger Brass Band, The Manchester Men (pop-rock), and DJ Yakari. This combination of wine, gastronomy, and music makes the Fête du Vin a popular and unifying event.
The Fête du Vin de Carcassonne is part of an exceptionally rich wine-growing region. The department of the Aude is one of France's largest wine producers, with over 50,000 hectares of vineyards and about ten protected designation of origin appellations. The event, initiated by the City of Carcassonne in collaboration with the Chamber of Agriculture of the Aude, helps promote this wine heritage to residents and tourists, in a spirit of conviviality and discovery.
The 2026 Fête du Vin is expected to take place in mid-October on Place Carnot in Carcassonne. The event will feature tastings of Languedoc wines, gourmet plates, and musical entertainment from 6 PM to midnight.
The Fête du Vin 2026 will once again take over Place Carnot in mid-October 2026 for two evenings of tastings and festivities.
