Ampélofolies du Cabardès

An unmissable event of the Aude terroir

Created in 2000 by the Association Ampélofolies du Cabardès, the Ampélofolies du Cabardès has become over the years one of the major gastronomic events in the Aude department. Every last Sunday of January, the village of Moussoulens, nestled in the heart of Cabardès a few kilometers north of Carcassonne, transforms into a vast market dedicated to black truffle (Tuber Melanosporum) and AOC Cabardès wines.

Truffle and wine: an exceptional marriage

The day is organized around two major poles: the truffle conservatory, where visitors can attend truffle hunting demonstrations with truffle dogs and discover the secrets of truffle cultivation, and the tasting stands of the winegrowers of the Cabardès appellation, the only AOC in Languedoc to blend Atlantic and Mediterranean grape varieties. A large truffle market opens its doors at 2:30 PM, allowing enthusiasts to acquire this black diamond directly from producers.

A local market with 80 exhibitors

Beyond truffles and wine, the Ampélofolies offers a vast market of producers and artisans bringing together nearly 80 exhibitors. You can find Aude local products: honey, cheeses, cured meats, jams, pastries, olive oil, and many other local specialties. Culinary workshops led by chefs allow you to discover recipes highlighting truffles and Cabardès wines.

Entertainment and conviviality for everyone

The Ampélofolies are not limited to gastronomy: the day is punctuated by musical performances with traditional and Occitan music groups, vine pruning demonstrations, and numerous activities for children. The warm and friendly atmosphere makes this event a popular festival where locals from Cabardès, food lovers, and curious visitors come together to discover an authentic terroir.
