An aerial show on the Mediterranean

The Canet-en-Roussillon Kite Festival is a free family event that takes over the central beach of the seaside resort every spring. Created about fifteen years ago on the initiative of a local association of enthusiasts, this initially modest festival (around 150 participants) has become a major event attracting over 12,000 visitors and participants from more than 10 countries.

The Wind Garden

The heart of the festival is the Wind Garden, a poetic space set up on the beach and animated by colorful wind vanes, windsocks, and anemometers that dance to the rhythm of the Mediterranean wind. Above, kites fill the sky in a fascinating aerial ballet.

Spectacular creations

While the first editions mainly featured traditional kites, the festival now presents a wide variety of creations: contemporary kites with artistic shapes, giant kites that can reach 20 meters in height, and breathtaking demonstrations of acrobatic flight by professional kite flyers.

Workshops for the whole family

In the afternoon, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., workshops for making and decorating kites, boomerangs, and parachutes are offered to children and families, so they can leave with their own creation and fly it on the beach.
