Autumn Festival of Les Andelys

Nearly 30 years of autumn traditions

Since the late 1990s, the Autumn Festival of Les Andelys has celebrated the arrival of the golden season on the banks of the Seine. Organized by the OCLA (Office Culturel et de Loisirs des Andelys), this popular festival attracts thousands of visitors every October to taste the flavors of the Norman region and enjoy a festive day at the foot of Château Gaillard.

Artisan market and local products

The heart of the festival is a large artisan market featuring creators, craftspeople, and local producers. Visitors can discover cider, calvados, Norman cheeses, jams, honey, and seasonal specialties. The traditional apple pressing is one of the highlights: on the square, an old-fashioned press transforms apples into fresh juice before visitors' eyes, perpetuating an ancestral Norman know-how.

Activities and festivities

The Autumn Festival program is rich in activities. The pumpkin contest invites young and old to present the most beautiful specimens from the vegetable garden. A free carousel delights children, while exhibitions showcase old trades and traditional crafts. A grand raffle with numerous prizes punctuates the day. In the evening, a dinner-concert extends the festivities in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Located on the banks of the Seine, the Autumn Festival benefits from the spectacular setting of Les Andelys: the chalk cliffs topped by the ruins of Richard the Lionheart's Château Gaillard provide a majestic backdrop to this popular event.
