Food'Angers: The Celebration of Angers Gastronomy and Loire Wines
Launched in 2017, Food'Angers is Angers' major winter gastronomic event. For ten days, from late January to early February, the city buzzes with gastronomy and Loire wines. No fewer than 150 players—winemakers, restaurateurs, shopkeepers, chocolatiers, producers, academics, and associations—organize over 80 activities throughout the city.
A Rich and Diverse Program
The Food'Angers program covers a wide range of culinary and oenological experiences: guided tastings, participatory cooking workshops, meetings with local producers, vineyard visits, culinary tours in the city's restaurants, food and wine pairing workshops, and many other surprises. About twenty wine fairs (natural, organic, Loire, peasant, living, rambling wines) complete the program.
The Pop-up Restaurant of the Gastronomy Campus
One of the festival's highlights is the Pop-up Restaurant of the Gastronomy Campus, where apprentices and students work together to offer visitors a convivial gastronomic experience. This event within the event embodies the spirit of transmission and sharing that drives Food'Angers.
A Close Link with the Salon des Vins de Loire
Food'Angers takes place alongside the Salon des Vins de Loire, the professional trade show that brings together Loire Valley winemakers at the Parc des Expositions. This synergy between the public event and the professional trade show makes Angers the capital of Loire wines for about ten days, highlighting the diversity of local expertise and the rise of sustainable cuisine.
