Popular spring festival on the banks of the Seine in Les Andelys
For over a decade, the Fête de Printemps des Andelys has marked the arrival of the warmer season on the banks of the Seine, in an exceptional natural setting dominated by the ruins of Château Gaillard. This festive and friendly event, organized by the OCLA (Office Culturel et de Loisirs des Andelys), attracts thousands of visitors eager to enjoy the spring atmosphere and discover the riches of the Norman region.
The heart of the festival is a flower and plant market that colors the banks of the Seine with a thousand spring hues. Visitors stroll among the stands of nurseries, horticulturists, and florists, before discovering the artisan market where local creators exhibit their work. Local producers from the Normandy region offer cider, cheeses, jams, honey, and regional specialties in a warm and gourmet atmosphere.
The Spring Festival is also an opportunity for a painting exhibition that brings together local and regional artists. Children's entertainment—carousels, creative workshops, games—punctuate the day, while musical entertainment accompanies the strollers. The event is designed to be family-friendly and accessible, with free admission and on-site catering.
Nestled in a meander of the Seine, the town of Les Andelys offers a spectacular setting for this spring festival. Château Gaillard, a fortress built by Richard the Lionheart in 1196, watches over the festivities from the chalk cliffs. This exceptional heritage and natural setting makes the Spring Festival a unique event in the Eure department.
The 14th edition of the Fête de Printemps des Andelys is expected on May 16 and 17, 2026, on the banks of the Seine. The program will include the highlights of this spring tradition: a flower and plant market, an artisan market, local Norman produce, a painting exhibition, and children's entertainment. Free admission in an exceptional setting at the foot of Château Gaillard.
