The largest wine and beekeeping fair in Vienne, since 1965
The Foire aux Vins et aux Miels de Jaunay-Marigny is the unmissable spring event in Vienne. Every year in March, the sports complex in the village hosts nearly 200 exhibitors - winegrowers, beekeepers, local producers, and artisans - from all over France. Founded in 1965, this fair has celebrated French lifestyle for six decades and attracts between 9,000 and 10,000 visitors, making it the most important event in the department for wine and gastronomy.
Born in 1965 under the name Foire aux Vins de Jaunay-Clan, this event is the work of the Comité d'Organisation des Foires de Jaunay-Clan, an association of passionate volunteers who have perpetuated a tradition of conviviality and sharing around local products for six decades. Over the years, the fair has broadened its horizons by integrating honey, regional gastronomy, and crafts, becoming the Foire aux Vins et aux Miels. Today, it is the most important event of its kind in the entire department of Vienne, a title earned through its approximately 200 exhibitors and 9,000 to 10,000 visitors each year.
The beating heart of the fair remains wine. More than a hundred winegrowers from all the wine regions of France - Bordeaux, Burgundy, Loire Valley, Rhône Valley, Alsace, Languedoc, as well as local appellations from Haut-Poitou - present their vintages in the vast space of the sports complex on avenue Gérard Girault. Visitors can taste, compare, and buy directly from producers, benefiting from personalized advice and show prices. It's the perfect opportunity to discover hidden gems, rare grape varieties, and vintages not found in large retail stores.
Alongside the winegrowers, beekeepers hold a special place in Jaunay-Marigny. Flower, lavender, chestnut, and acacia honeys, as well as single-varietal honeys, are displayed alongside hive products: gingerbread, mead, wax, propolis, and royal jelly. The gastronomy and local produce section complements the offering with producers of Poitou goat cheese, artisanal charcuterie, foie gras, confits, chocolates, jams, and regional specialties. Artisans - potters, cutlers, basket weavers - add a creative touch to this showcase of French know-how.
The Foire aux Vins et aux Miels is not just about strolling between the stands. Culinary animations and guided tastings punctuate the two days, while a catering area offers full meals served at lunchtime. On Saturday afternoon, the official inauguration is accompanied by inductions by the confrérie des Tires-Douzils, followed by a celebratory toast. On Saturday evening, a festive gala dinner with an orchestra is organized at the Domaine d'Aliénor d'Aquitaine, by reservation. For families, a funfair is set up in the Agora parking lot, offering rides and attractions throughout the weekend.
Organized by nearly 100 volunteers and municipal employees, the Foire aux Vins et aux Miels is more than just a trade show: it is an economic and social driver for Jaunay-Marigny and the north of Vienne. It revitalizes the local commercial fabric, promotes short supply chains, and offers producers a direct showcase to a curious and informed audience. In six decades, it has become an iconic event on the Poitou calendar, a time when wine, honey, and good cheer bring all generations together around a shared passion: good food and good drink.
The 61st edition of the Foire aux Vins et aux Miels de Jaunay-Marigny will be held on March 14 and 15, 2026, at the sports complex in the village. Nearly 200 exhibitors — winegrowers, beekeepers, local producers, and artisans — will welcome visitors for a weekend of tastings and gourmet discoveries.
