The largest funfair in the Grand Est region on boulevard Delestraint in Troyes
The Foire de Mars is the largest funfair in the Grand Est region, held annually from late February to mid-March on the boulevard du Général Charles Delestraint in Troyes, opposite the Le Cube exhibition center. An heir to a tradition dating back to 1848, this popular festival brings together over 170 attractions and game stalls over several hectares, attracting around 250,000 visitors over four weeks. Free to enter, the Foire de Mars is an unmissable family event for the people of Aube and the entire region, combining thrills, treats, and conviviality.
The Foire de Mars in Troyes is one of the oldest and most important funfairs in Eastern France. Its history dates back to 1848, when it was first set up in the Place du Préau, before settling in the Place de la Préfecture (now Place de la Libération) until the end of the 19th century. In 1872, the funfair was named "Foire de la mi-carême", a name it kept for over fifty years. Over the decades, it moved to the Saint-Nicolas promenade (now boulevard Victor-Hugo) and then to the boulevards surrounding the city center.
It was in 1966 that the Foire de Mars moved to its current location, the boulevard du Général Charles Delestraint, a vast esplanade south of Troyes city center, opposite the Le Cube exhibition park. This generous space can accommodate over 170 attractions — thrill rides, bumper cars, Ferris wheels, roller coasters, shooting galleries, duck fishing — as well as numerous food stalls offering cotton candy, churros, waffles, and other funfair treats.
With its 250,000 visitors over four weeks and its 170 fairground attractions, the Foire de Mars is considered the largest funfair in the Grand Est. Each edition brings its share of novelties: in 2026, a 40-meter panoramic Ferris wheel will be among the star attractions, alongside timeless classics like the Tagada and the The Mouse roller coaster. Entry is free, with only the attractions being paid for, making the event accessible to all budgets.
