Foire-Expo de Bierné: The Festive Tradition of Southern Mayenne
The Foire-Expo de Bierné is one of the oldest festive events in southern Mayenne. Organized since the late 1980s by the Bierné Festival Committee, this annual exhibition fair perpetuates the tradition of the great rural festivals that punctuate the life of the Mayenne countryside.
An Agricultural Show at the Heart of the Event
The agricultural show is the historic pillar of the Foire-Expo. Breeders from the region present their finest animals in a competition that showcases local agricultural know-how. Cattle, sheep, and other farm animals are exhibited and judged by experts, in an authentic atmosphere that recalls the importance of agriculture in the region's identity.
Exhibition of Businesses and Artisans
The fair brings together many exhibitors from the region: local businesses, artisans, merchants, and associations present their products and services in a dedicated exhibition space. It is an opportunity for visitors to discover the economic fabric of the Pays de Château-Gontier community of communes and to establish direct contact with local professionals.
Funfair and Entertainment
The funfair traditionally accompanies the Foire-Expo, offering rides and attractions for children and families. The entertainment continues in the evening with:
- Mussel and Fries Meal: the big convivial meal that brings together hundreds of guests under a marquee
- Dance Evening: a popular ball with an orchestra, in the purest tradition of village festivals
- Fireworks: the grand finale that beautifully concludes the festivities
A Unifying Event
The Foire-Expo de Bierné is driven by the volunteers of the Festival Committee, chaired by Christian Pescheux. The event mobilizes the local community and is a highlight of social life in Bierné-les-Villages, strengthening ties between generations and between the agricultural world and the inhabitants of the village.

With almost 40 editions to its name, the Foire-Expo de Bierné testifies to the vitality of festive traditions in rural areas. The event has evolved over the decades while retaining its authentic character and its roots in the Mayenne region.

39th Bierné Fair-Expo: two days of celebration in Bierné-les-Villages
The 39th edition of the Bierné Fair-Expo will be held on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28, 2026 in Bierné-les-Villages, Mayenne. Organized by the Comité des fêtes de Bierné, this edition, faithful to tradition, combines exhibition, agricultural show, funfair, and popular entertainment throughout the weekend.
During the two days, the public will find local exhibitors, refreshment stands and food stalls, as well as the funfair with its rides for families. Several musical moments will punctuate the event: a cabaret show by the Kahos company, festive strolls by the Banda Morachago, and performances by the Harmonie de Bierné-les-Villages.
Saturday, June 27 will feature the grand moules-frites meal, followed by a dance party animated by the Coverlive orchestra. Sunday, June 28 will be dedicated to exhibitions and entertainment, concluding with the traditional fireworks display. Admission to the fair is free.

Access
Location: Bierné-les-Villages (53290), Mayenne. The event takes place on the communal site of Bierné.
By car: Bierné-les-Villages is located about 10 km north of Château-Gontier-sur-Mayenne and 35 km south of Laval. Free parking on site.

The Foire-Expo is traditionally held on the last weekend of June.
