Free Sons: The Annual Celebration of Paris - Vallée de la Marne Conservatories
The Free Sons Festival is organized every year in June by the conservatories of the Paris - Vallée de la Marne urban community, primarily by the Nina-Simone Conservatory located in Pontault-Combault and Roissy-en-Brie. For nearly a month, this festival celebrates music, dance, and theater through dozens of performances by students and teachers from the conservatories.
A Rich and Multidisciplinary Program
The Free Sons Festival program reflects the diversity of teaching offered within the conservatory network. It includes harmony concerts, piano recitals, classical and contemporary dance performances, theatrical productions, chamber music concerts, vocal recitals, and musical shows blending multiple disciplines. Each evening offers an opportunity to discover the talent of students, from the youngest to the most advanced, in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
Performance Venues at the Heart of the Territory
The Free Sons Festival takes place in several emblematic venues in Pontault-Combault and Roissy-en-Brie: the Salle polyvalente, the Salle Madame Sans Gêne, the performance hall Les Passerelles in Pontault-Combault, and the Salle Ravel. This touring format within the urban community allows it to reach a wide audience and promote the cultural facilities of the area.
A Festival Dedicated to Artistic Transmission
Beyond performance, Free Sons embodies the fundamental mission of conservatories: the transmission and sharing of artistic practices. For students, it is the culmination of a year's work; for the public, it is the discovery of the vitality of local artistic education. The festival thus contributes to the cultural influence of Pontault-Combault and the Paris - Vallée de la Marne urban community, while fostering social connection through collective artistic practice.
