Flamenco and Iberian culture celebrated in Tarbes
Since 1989, the Peña Andalouse Guazamara has been organizing the Ibéro-Andalusian Festival of Tarbes and Bigorre, a cultural event that has become essential for lovers of Iberian and Andalusian culture in the Southwest. For two weeks each autumn, the festival makes Tarbes vibrate to the rhythms of flamenco.
The festival offers a diverse program centered around Ibero-Andalusian culture: flamenco shows (dance, guitar, singing), concerts, artistic exhibitions, film screenings, conferences on Andalusian history and culture, dance workshops (flamenco, palmas, castanets), and costume parades (traditional costumes). The invited flamenco dance companies blend tradition and contemporary creation.
The main shows take place at the Théâtre Municipal les Nouveautés, a historic venue in Tarbes offering an intimate and warm setting. Other locations in the city and in Bigorre also host festival events, reaching a wide audience.
The Ibéro-Andalusian Festival of Tarbes returns in Autumn 2026 for a new edition. Flamenco shows, concerts, exhibitions, and workshops are on the program at the Théâtre les Nouveautés and partner venues in Bigorre.
