The traveling cultural season of the Hautes-Pyrénées
The Escales d'Automne are the cultural season offered each autumn by the Department of Hautes-Pyrénées. From towns to villages, this traveling festival unfolds a rich and varied program mixing music, theater, dance, circus, storytelling, puppetry, readings, and one-man shows. For nearly two months, the Escales d'Automne enliven the entire Bigorre territory by offering quality performances in remarkable heritage sites such as the abbey church of Larreule or the abbey of l'Escaladieu.
Each autumn, the Department of Hautes-Pyrénées offers the Escales d'Automne, a traveling cultural season that irrigates the entire Bigorre territory. From towns to villages, this multidisciplinary festival offers a rich and demanding program accessible to all audiences.
The Escales d'Automne cover a wide artistic spectrum: music, singing, theater, dance, circus, storytelling, puppetry, readings, exhibitions, and one-man shows. This diversity allows us to reach a varied audience and introduce artistic forms that are sometimes unknown to the general public.
The performances take place in remarkable sites in the department: the Saint-Orens de Larreule Abbey Church, the Abbey of l'Escaladieu, the municipal halls, and the cultural spaces of the participating towns. This alliance between heritage and live performance gives the Escales d'Automne a special charm.
In partnership with numerous municipalities, the Department of Hautes-Pyrénées ensures cultural coverage throughout the territory. The Escales d'Automne allow residents of rural areas to access quality performances without having to travel to large cities.
The 2026 edition of Escales d'Automne will be held from October to the end of November 2026. The Department's cultural season will continue to irrigate the Bigorre territory with a multidisciplinary program.
The Escales d'Automne return in autumn 2026 for a new cultural season across the Hautes-Pyrénées. The program will be announced in September 2026.
Performances take place in numerous towns in the Hautes-Pyrénées. The detailed program with venues and times is available on the Department's website.
Prices and booking methods vary depending on the performance. Consult the program for each event.
