Intercultural festival of reading, music, and live performance in Hautes-Pyrénées
The Les Dévisseurs de Mots Festival is a unique cultural event, driven by the Compagnie Dévissez vers ça, an artistic and rural company based in the Hautes-Pyrénées. Since 2014, the festival has moved each year to a different village in the department, transforming squares, alleys, and heritage sites into ephemeral stages.
The programming of Les Dévisseurs de Mots revolves around speech, poetry, and artistic expression. Actors, musicians, storytellers, and acrobats offer atypical shows that creatively and participatively engage public spaces. Each edition traditionally opens with a parade through the village, before presenting six varied shows over two days.
The festival operates on the 'hat' principle (free and conscious pricing), making culture accessible to all. This spirit of generosity and sharing is at the heart of the identity of Compagnie Dévissez vers ça, which creates 'atypical' shows with an emphasis on words and poetry.
The Compagnie Dévissez vers ça is an artistic and rural company based in the Hautes-Pyrénées. It creates shows mixing theater, music, circus, and reading, which it disseminates in rural areas. The company also runs educational workshops and participates in local cultural life, notably in partnership with the media library of Castelnau-Magnoac.
The festival is itinerant and takes place each year in a different village in the Hautes-Pyrénées. Past editions: Gaussan (2024), Bonrepos (2019). Next edition: Sariac-Magnoac (2025).
Free pricing (at the hat). The festival is accessible to all.
