Theatre in rural areas

Théâtre en Automne is a unique festival dedicated to promoting amateur theatre in rural areas. Every year since 2006, the small village of Chelle-Debat, nestled in the hills between Tarbes and Trie-sur-Baïse, has hosted amateur theatre troupes from all over the department for a week.

A week of comedies

The festival unfolds over a full week, from Sunday to Saturday, with a different comedy every evening at 9 p.m. The programming is deliberately eclectic:

• Theatre in French: Contemporary comedies, social satires, and humorous plays
• Theatre in Occitan: Plays in the Occitan language performed by local troupes, preserving the Occitan theatrical tradition
• Theatre workshops: The opening Sunday is dedicated to theatre workshops with the association's groups

Regional troupes

Among the troupes that have performed over the years: the troupe from Campuzan (Occitan theatre), Bug'art, Les Escanecrabes (Occitan theatre), Mysogénial, Arcal, La Porte Bleue, as well as the theatre group from Chelle-Debat and that from Lansac.

An associative and generous spirit

The association Théâtre en Automne, created in February 2007, aims to promote theatre in rural areas. Performances operate on the principle of free participation, making theatrical culture accessible to all.
