Rue Barrée Festival
Street arts festival in the Hautes-Pyrénées
2026
About Rue Barrée
The Rue Barrée Festival is a day of street performances and free concerts, organized by the Rue Barrée association, which was founded in January 2013. After twelve years in Lourdes, the association saw its municipal grant halved in 2025 and announced its departure from the city. It now tours small towns in the Hautes-Pyrénées: Tournay in April 2025, followed by Ibos on October 12, 2025, under the village market hall. The program varies from year to year, featuring street theater, clowns, brass bands, and concerts.
Our team has not been able to confirm with an official source that this 2026 edition is taking place. The dates and program shown below may be outdated. We strongly recommend that you contact the organizer directly to verify before any travel or registration.
Rue Barrée — edition 2026
As of mid-August 2026, no 2026 edition of the Festival Rue Barrée has been announced. While the Rue Barrée association remains active and registered, there have been no updates since their event on October 12, 2025, in Ibos—no dates, no host town, and no program information.
2026 edition: nothing announced so far
The association's website still displays the announcement for the October 12, 2025, event in Ibos, and the local press, which has been covering the festival since 2021, has not published any news about it since October 6, 2025.
Since leaving Lourdes, Rue Barrée has moved to a different town for each event, making it impossible to predict the location of the next one based on previous ones.
In the past, announcements were made only a few days in advance: October 6, 2025, for the October 12 event in Ibos, and October 5, 2023, for the October 14 and 15 event in Lourdes. The association's website, ruebarree.e-monsite.com, is the best place to check for updates.

The October 12, 2025 event takes place in the center of the village of Ibos (65420), under the market hall and in the surrounding squares. The location for the next event has not yet been announced.

All shows are free. The association is funded by public donations and on-site food sales, with proceeds going directly to the organization. In Ibos, a rougail saucisse (or a vegetarian version) is available for 10 €, with tickets sold on-site without reservation.
On-site
An information desk and a refreshment stand are set up under the market hall. Volunteers can be identified by their neon yellow vests. In case of rain, performances will be moved to sheltered areas indicated on the printed program.

A street arts festival born in Lourdes
The Rue Barrée association was registered on January 10, 2013, at the Argelès-Gazost sub-prefecture, with the mission to "organize a street festival and participate in the development or organization of cultural events." Its festival was held in Lourdes for twelve years, lasting one to three days depending on the year, under ever-changing themes: "Rue Barrée fète les meufs" and "Rue Barrée fait vibrer les strings" in 2018, "Travail Famille Saucisses" and "Il était une foi dans le sud-ouest" in 2023, and "Octobre Bouge" in 2024.
Leaving Lourdes in 2025
In a statement released on March 14, 2025, the association announced the end of its collaboration with the city of Lourdes, citing a 50% cut in funding—a 65% reduction in constant euros. In the same announcement, it issued a call to other towns in the Hautes-Pyrénées willing to host the event without financial compensation, requesting only a venue or a large covered area, electricity, and permission to set up a refreshment stand.
A tour of small towns
The festival now changes location each time. It visited Tournay in April 2025, then Ibos on October 12, 2025, for a day titled "Octobre Ose," featuring five free shows under and around the market hall. "We thank the municipality of Ibos, which did not hesitate to contribute financially to ensure that culture for everyone can survive," the organizing team wrote.
Admission and funding
All performances are free. The association relies on public donations, support from host municipalities, the Occitanie Region, and the Hautes-Pyrénées Department, as well as food sales on site. Around forty volunteers keep the event running.
