Science accessible to all in the Hautes-Pyrénées
Every year in October, the Fête de la Science takes over Tarbes and the towns of the Hautes-Pyrénées to offer the public free and fun access to science. This national event, coordinated locally by Instant Science, features a Science Village with numerous interactive workshops.
The Science Village welcomes school groups during the week and the general public on Saturdays, with participatory workshops covering various themes: meteorites, water, electricity, Pyrenean biodiversity, artificial intelligence, and many other current scientific topics.
Each edition explores a national theme: “Intelligence(s)” in 2025, “Saveurs savantes” in 2026. The activities are designed to spark scientific curiosity in all audiences, from the youngest to adults.
The Fête de la Science also extends throughout the department with activities in schools, conferences, scientific film screenings, and meetings with researchers.
The 2026 edition of the Fête de la Science will explore the theme “Saveurs savantes”. The Science Village will offer free participatory workshops in the Hautes-Pyrénées.
Science Village: The location varies depending on the edition. In 2024, the Science Village was hosted by ENIT (47 avenue d'Azereix, 65000 Tarbes). In 2025, it was in Bagnères-de-Bigorre (Maison de quartier Clair-Vallon).
School groups welcomed during the week. Open to the general public on Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm.
Free admission for all workshops and activities.
