Fête de la Science in the Hautes-Pyrénées
Every year in October, the Fête de la Science takes over Tarbes and the towns of the Hautes-Pyrénées to offer the public free and fun access to science. This national event, coordinated locally by Instant Science, features a Science Village with numerous interactive workshops.
A Science Village for Everyone
The Science Village welcomes school groups during the week and the general public on Saturdays, with participatory workshops covering various themes: meteorites, water, electricity, Pyrenean biodiversity, artificial intelligence, and many other current scientific topics.
A New Theme Each Year
Each edition explores a national theme: “Intelligence(s)” in 2025, “Saveurs savantes” in 2026. The activities are designed to spark scientific curiosity in all audiences, from the youngest to adults.
Beyond the Science Village
The Fête de la Science also extends throughout the department with activities in schools, conferences, scientific film screenings, and meetings with researchers.
Fête de la Science — edition 2026
The 2026 Science Festival in the Hautes-Pyrénées takes place from October 2 to 12, as part of the 36th national edition, on the theme "Savvy Flavors". On the program: a Science Village with free participatory workshops, hosted in 2026 by the École Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Tarbes (ENIT), as well as events throughout the department.
Science Festival 2026 — Theme: Savvy Flavors
The 36th national edition of the Science Festival takes place from October 2 to 12, 2026, on the theme "Savvy Flavors", which invites exploration of the close links between science, cooking, taste, and food. In the Hautes-Pyrénées, the event is coordinated by the association Science en Bigorre — Instant Science.
The Science Village at ENIT in Tarbes
In 2026, the Hautes-Pyrénées Science Village is hosted by the École Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Tarbes (ENIT), 47 avenue d'Azereix. It offers free participatory workshops led by science communicators, researchers, and teachers, open to school groups during the week and to the general public on Saturday.

Beyond the Science Village, the Science Festival unfolds across numerous sites in the Hautes-Pyrénées with conferences, meetings with researchers, and activities for all audiences.

Science Village 2026: National School of Engineers of Tarbes (ENIT), 47 avenue d'Azereix, 65000 Tarbes. The location of the Science Village may vary depending on the edition (ENIT in Tarbes, Bagnères-de-Bigorre in previous years).
Hours
School groups welcome during the week, by registration. Open to the general public on Saturday (generally from 10 am to 5 pm).
