Jazz in Béziers, Hérault
Jazz à Bayssan is a winter jazz event by Scène de Bayssan, held at the Domaine départemental de Bayssan in Béziers, Hérault (Occitanie). Created in 2023 by Scène de Bayssan, it offers each late January a wide panorama of today's jazz, where African-American music dialogues with rock, pop, classical, and music from the Mediterranean rim (North Africa, Egypt, Middle East, Balkans, Spain).
For three days, the festival brings together leading artists in the different spaces of the estate: the Théâtre Michel-Galabru, the Chapelle Saint-Félix, and the restaurant transformed for the occasion into a true jazz club. Concerts, musical conferences, master classes, jazz brunch, and brass band strolls make up a friendly and demanding program.
Located at the gates of Béziers, on the Domaine départemental de Bayssan, the festival showcases a major cultural site of the Hérault and contributes to the attractiveness of the department, bathed by the Mediterranean. It opens the cultural season of Béziers in a remarkable landscape setting, between a green theater and a sacred wood.
Jazz à Bayssan is above all a moment of sharing. Enlightened enthusiasts as well as the simply curious will find something to discover jazz in all its diversity, supported by the welcome of the Scène de Bayssan teams and its volunteers.
