Jazz à Bayssan 2026 — 4th edition

The 4th edition of Jazz à Bayssan took place from January 30th to February 1st, 2026 at the Scène de Bayssan, on the Domaine départemental de Bayssan in Béziers (Hérault). Organized by the Scène de Bayssan since 2023, this winter event offers a panorama of the many faces of current jazz, where Afro-American music dialogues with rock, pop, classical, and Mediterranean music.

A program centered around gypsy and Mediterranean jazz

The opening night on Friday, January 30th, honored the world of Django Reinhardt with the Adrien Moignard Gipsy 4tet, a gypsy jazz virtuoso, and the Baptiste Herbin Trio paying tribute to Django. On Saturday, January 31st, the program featured the Toulouse quartet Prima Kanta, a unique chamber jazz blending piano, violin, electro-acoustic harp, clarinets, and voice, as well as the encounter between jazz and flamenco by Erik Truffaz & Antonio Lizana around Miles Davis' album Sketches of Spain. Sunday, February 1st, concluded with a brass band stroll through the sacred wood of the estate, followed by a Jazz Brunch.

The Domaine de Bayssan

The festival unfolds in the various spaces of the Scène de Bayssan: the Théâtre Michel-Galabru, the Chapelle Saint-Félix, and the estate's restaurant transformed into a jazz club for the occasion. Musical conferences, master classes, and convivial moments complement the concerts.
