Clamart's autumn jazz festival
Jazz à Clamart is the annual jazz festival of the town of Clamart, in Hauts-de-Seine. Held every autumn in October, it takes over the town's stages and cultural venues — including the Théâtre Jean Arp — to offer several evenings of jazz, blending gypsy jazz, classic jazz, and contemporary jazz. A must-attend event for jazz lovers in the Paris region.
Jazz à Clamart is the jazz festival of the town of Clamart (92140), which has been a fixture in the cultural landscape of Hauts-de-Seine for several years each autumn. Organized at the initiative of the municipality, it transforms the forest town — known for its vast green spaces and its state forest — into an ephemeral jazz capital for a few days in October.
The festival takes over the town's most emblematic venues. The Théâtre Jean Arp, a true architectural gem located in the heart of Clamart, is one of the festival's main stages. Inaugurated in 1965 from plans by André Hermant, this theater with its distinctive facade regularly hosts major performing arts artists, and the Jazz à Clamart festival fully benefits from its remarkable acoustics. Concerts are also held in other venues in the town, including the Église Saint-Pierre-Saint-Paul, whose monumental organ allows for extraordinary musical encounters.
Jazz à Clamart offers an eclectic program that spans styles and generations. During its 8th edition, the festival brought together diverse artists such as Angelo Debarre, a key figure in gypsy jazz in the lineage of Django Reinhardt, and Laurent Coulondre, an inventive pianist paying tribute to Michel Petrucciani. The closing act featured the unlikely duo formed by clarinetist Yom and organist Baptiste-Florian Marle-Ouvrard presenting « Prière », a fusion of Jewish, classical, and jazz music.
This stylistic diversity is characteristic of the festival, which rejects genre boundaries while maintaining high artistic standards. Recurring themes — tributes to jazz legends, intercultural encounters, contemporary creation — give each edition a specific coherence and identity.
Clamart's uniqueness also stems from its natural environment. The Forêt domaniale de Clamart, one of the largest in Hauts-de-Seine, surrounds the town and gives it a special atmosphere, halfway between a Parisian suburb and a green escape. This alliance between jazz culture and living nature gives the festival a unique flavor: coming to Jazz à Clamart also means enjoying a human-sized town where music resonates differently than in Paris.
9th edition of Jazz à Clamart in October 2026 at the Théâtre Jean Arp and in the town's cultural venues. Several evenings of jazz exploring different styles, from gypsy tradition to contemporary jazz.
Jazz à Clamart returns for its 9th edition in October 2026, true to its tradition of offering several quality jazz evenings in the town's emblematic venues.
