The Fête de la Musique in Clamart: the city in music from Panorama to the Hôtel de Ville
Every June 21st, Clamart transforms into an open-air stage to celebrate the Fête de la Musique. This town in the Hauts-de-Seine, nestled between the forests of Meudon and Clamart, offers a dense and varied musical program that takes over its main squares and cultural spaces. Rock, rap, classical, hip-hop, jazz, funk, zouk, and electro: all styles are represented for a popular celebration open to all.
Place du Panorama: the grand orchestral gathering
The Place du Panorama, one of Clamart's most beautiful squares with its unobstructed view of the surroundings, is one of the emblematic venues of the Fête de la Musique. Each year, it hosts the Conservatoire Harmonie directed by Mathilde Comoy and the Harmonie de Clamart — two wind and percussion ensembles that offer ambitious programs, ranging from classical repertoire to contemporary arrangements. The musical level of these ensembles, often noted, attracts a large and loyal audience.
Place de l'Hôtel de Ville: concerts until dawn
It is in front of the café terraces of the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville that most of the popular celebration in Clamart takes place. Starting at 5 PM, students and bands from the Conservatory and the music school Music in Clamart take over the main stage for a long musical evening that lasts until 12:30 AM. The public settles on the terraces, orders drinks, and enjoys the relaxed and festive atmosphere.
Rock at École Louise Michel
The École Louise Michel hosts a program focused on rock and acoustic music each year. Bands like Travel Light (rock) and AcoustiquesVibes perform from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM for intimate and warm concerts in this unique setting. These concerts, organized in the schoolyard, create a friendly neighborhood atmosphere accessible to families.
Other festive venues
The Fête de la Musique in Clamart doesn't stop at the main squares: other venues like the Espace St Jo, the Place du Marché, the Place de la Gare, and the Quartier Jardin Parisien also host concerts throughout the day and evening. Bars, restaurants, and local associations embrace the event and offer their own musical entertainment.
CEMC: musical creation in celebration
The Centre d'Expression et de Musiques Contemporaines (CEMC) in Clamart offers a program focused on contemporary music and creation each year for the Fête de la Musique. The institution, recognized for the quality of its teaching and the diversity of its programs, presents the work of its students in a festive and relaxed atmosphere.
Clamart, a green and musical city
Clamart is a town of 55,000 inhabitants that maintains a rich cultural life, notably thanks to its musical associations and cultural facilities. The Fête de la Musique perfectly embodies this tradition of openness and sharing, transforming the city every June 21st into a vast, free, and accessible open-air festival.
