The Fête des Vendanges de Bagneux: street arts and outdoor conviviality

The Fête des Vendanges de Bagneux is one of the cultural highlights of the Hauts-de-Seine department. Organized every year at the end of September by the City of Bagneux, this popular and free event brings together thousands of residents and visitors for two days of street arts, circus, music, and gastronomy.

A festival rooted in the local community

The name of the event recalls the wine-growing history of the Parisian region, where vines were once widely cultivated, including in the southern suburbs. Today, the Fête des Vendanges de Bagneux has moved beyond this agricultural symbolism to become a true festival of artistic creation in public spaces, true to the spirit of sharing and cultural diversity that characterizes the town.

The event mobilizes all of Bagneux's parks and public spaces: the Parc du Puits Saint-Étienne is transformed into an imaginary land dedicated to children, with sports and creative challenges, puppet shows, and artistic workshops. The Parc Richelieu hosts a culinary journey with specialties prepared by local residents and associations, making gastronomy an art in itself.

More than 300 artists on stage

The artistic program is at the heart of the Fête des Vendanges. Each edition features more than 25 shows involving over 300 artists for high-quality performances: street theater companies, contemporary circus troupes, diverse musical groups, dancers, acrobats, and performers take over all available spaces.

The 2025 edition notably featured Vaudou Game, a Togolese afrobeat funk band, Cirque Inextremiste with its breathtaking show of acrobatics on bulldozers, and the Orchestre de Lutétia performing a revisited opera repertoire. These headliners shared the stage with local and regional companies, respecting the mix of genres that makes the event so strong.

A participatory and solidarity-based festival

The Fête des Vendanges is much more than just a festival of shows: it is a participatory and solidarity-based celebration in which the residents of Bagneux play a full role. Local associations, sports clubs, schools, and cultural institutions contribute to the animation, whether by preparing gastronomic specialties for the culinary journey, supervising children's workshops, or participating in parades and processions that cross the town center.

This co-construction dimension makes the Fête des Vendanges a model cultural event that places social connection and cohesion at the heart of its project, while maintaining a real artistic standard in its programming.

Free access: a political and cultural choice

Free access is one of the founding principles of the Fête des Vendanges. Since its creation, the town of Bagneux has chosen to finance this event with public funds to ensure that all families, regardless of their income, can enjoy a quality program. This philosophy aligns with that of major street arts festivals like Aurillac, where public space is the primary venue for cultural democratization.
