Every year at the end of November, the Théâtre Municipal de Fontainebleau, a magnificent Italian-style hall inaugurated in 1912, transforms into a jazz temple for a long weekend. While the summer festival unfolds its open-air stages before thousands of spectators, Jazz au Théâtre offers a radically different experience: concerts in a 500-seat hall where the proximity to the artists creates an atmosphere of rare intensity. The remarkable acoustics of the theatre magnify every note, every improvisation, offering spectators total immersion in the music.

A Launchpad for Young Jazz Talents

One of the unique features of Jazz au Théâtre is its Young Talents competition, organized on Saturday afternoons with free admission. This initiative allows young jazz musicians to perform on a prestigious stage in front of an audience of connoisseurs and a jury of professionals. The competition is part of the mission of transmission and discovery dear to the Django Reinhardt Festival, which has always known how to associate the greatest names in jazz with the revelation of new talents.
