L'Huître en Fête is a gastronomic day dedicated to Paimpol oysters, organized every summer on the quai Armand Dayot in the port of Paimpol. This free event celebrates local oyster production through tastings, direct sales by producers, an oyster opening competition, presentations of oyster farming equipment, exhibitions, and Breton games. The day is musically animated by Celtic, folk, and rock music bands. L'Huître en Fête highlights the know-how of oyster farmers from the bay of Paimpol and the Sillon de Talbert, one of the most renowned production areas in Northern Brittany.

Celebration of the Paimpol Oyster
L'Huître en Fête is a gastronomic and festive event held every summer on the quai Armand Dayot, opposite the Dock & Mer shop, in the port of Paimpol. This day honors the Paimpol oyster, an emblematic product of the bay, cultivated notably in the oyster beds of the Sillon de Talbert and the Trieux estuary, renowned for their rich waters and the quality of their hollow oysters.
Tastings and Opening Competition
The heart of the event is dedicated to oyster tasting, offered directly by local producers. Visitors can taste and buy fresh oysters accompanied by white wine or Breton cider. The oyster opening competition (shucking) is one of the highlights of the day, pitting professionals and amateurs against each other in a test of speed and dexterity. Presentations of oyster farming equipment and exhibitions allow visitors to discover the oyster farmer's trade.
Music and Entertainment
The day is punctuated by concerts by local and regional artists. In 2025, the musical lineup includes Les Glochos, Les Frères Morvan, Outside Duo, Pat O'May, and Sonerien an Trev. Breton games complete the festive program, in a friendly and family-oriented atmosphere on the port quays.
