The Battle of Castillon returns in summer 2026 to the Domaine de Castegens site, in Belvès-de-Castillon (Gironde), for a new season of its grand nocturnal historical show. On a 7-hectare stage area, over 600 volunteers and a cavalry of 40 horses bring to life the Battle of Castillon of 1453, the last confrontation of the Hundred Years' War. 14 performances are scheduled from July 16 to August 15, 2026.

The Battle of Castillon 2026 — the greatest historical show in Nouvelle-Aquitaine

Every summer, at the foot of Castegens castle in Belvès-de-Castillon (33350), the Castillon 1453 association stages one of the largest historical re-enactments in France. The show brings to life the Battle of Castillon of July 17, 1453, which ended the Hundred Years' War and sealed the attachment of Guyenne to the Kingdom of France.

On a 7-hectare stage area, over 600 volunteer actors and extras, a cavalry of 40 horses, stunt performers, image projections, cannon fire, and pyrotechnic effects create a medieval fresco lasting approximately 1h30, directed by Eric Le Collen.

Before the show, the Aliénor Village opens from 6:30 PM: free entertainment and games for children, artisan stalls, conferences, catering, and wine tastings from the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. The show begins at nightfall, around 10 PM.
