La Saint Glinglin: Lignac's Easter Festival
La Saint Glinglin is the flagship event that closes the cultural season of the Couda Couda association each year in Lignac, a small village in southern Indre nestled in the heart of the Brenne Regional Natural Park. This popular festival, organized on Easter weekend, brings together locals and visitors for festive and artistic moments.
A Festive Program for All Ages
The day begins in the early afternoon on the town hall square with an unmissable family event: the egg hunt, organized in a location kept secret until the last moment. Children and parents embark on an adventure around the village in search of precious chocolate treasures. Registration is required to participate in this original egg hunt.
Live and Offbeat Shows
After the egg hunt, it's time for live performances. Each year, a professional company is invited to present an offbeat, poetic show accessible to all audiences, from the youngest to the oldest. Among the companies hosted, we find notably the Cie Les Objets Perdus with their show “Bilbilifou”, mixing circus, puppets, and humor. The shows take place outdoors in the village square, or indoors in case of rain.
The Grand Traditional Dance
The evening continues with the most anticipated moment: the grand traditional dance. Folk musicians and dancers gather to share bourrées, scottishes, mazurkas, and other traditional dances in a friendly and lively atmosphere. The La Saint Glinglin traditional dance has become a popular event for folk music and dance enthusiasts in the Centre-Val de Loire region.
An Event Supported by the Couda Couda Association
Founded in 2020, the Couda Couda association has been enlivening the cultural life of Lignac throughout the winter, from Halloween to spring. It offers activities of a social, family, educational, environmental, and cultural nature. La Saint Glinglin is the festive highlight of this annual program, embodying the values of sharing and conviviality in a rural setting.
