The cross-country skiing celebration for youth
Every January, the Stade Nordique des Tuffes in Prémanon (Jura) transforms into a huge playground for young cross-country skiers. La Transju'Jeunes, organized as part of La Transju', brings together between 1,500 and 2,000 young skiers aged 7 to 19 from across the Jura massif and beyond to experience an exceptional day of cross-country skiing, self-improvement, and sharing.
An educational and sporting event
Organized in partnership with the UNSS (National Union of School Sports) and the USEP (Sports Union of Primary Education), La Transju'Jeunes is part of a strong educational approach. The event allows young people to discover cross-country skiing, to improve, or to compete, while celebrating the values of Nordic skiing: effort, mutual aid, respect for nature, and team spirit.
24 races adapted to all levels
The program includes 24 races in total, with distances ranging from 1 to 6 kilometers adapted to each age and skill category. The youngest (7-8 years old) start on 1 km loops in a fun and encouraging atmosphere, while teenagers (16-19 years old) compete on demanding 4 to 6 km courses, both technically and physically. Each race is a moment of pride for the participants, encouraged by educators, parents, and sports ambassadors.
Renowned ambassadors
La Transju'Jeunes benefits each year from the presence of renowned sports ambassadors from French Nordic skiing. In 2024, Caroline Colombo and Sandrine Bailly were present to encourage the young skiers. In 2025, it was Sébastien Lacroix, Olympic champion in Nordic combined, who honored the event with his presence, transmitting his passion for skiing and the values of sporting excellence to the young participants.
