ℹ️ 2026 Edition Cancelled — Return Announced for 2027. The Vox Populi association announced on May 11, 2026, the cancellation of the 11th edition, initially scheduled for June 5 and 6, 2026, due to insufficient pre-sales and a sharp increase in costs (technical services, security, logistics, artist fees). The organizers invite the public to return in 2027.
Founded in 2016 by the Vox Populi association, the La Voix du Rock festival perpetuates a musical tradition rooted in Couhé since the 1990s. After an initial series of editions that enlivened the commune until 2000, a new team of enthusiasts relaunched the adventure by investing in the exceptional site of Valence Abbey, a heritage gem in the south of Vienne. This idyllic setting, amidst ancient stones and greenery, gives the festival a unique atmosphere, halfway between rock fervor and rural serenity.
La Voix du Rock stands out with an audacious program that embraces all facets of rock, from punk to metal, Celtic rock to festive songs. Over the editions, the festival has hosted emblematic artists from the French and international scene: Ultra Vomit, Tagada Jones, Burning Heads, Silmarils, Soldat Louis, Boulevard des Airs, Dagoba, Elmer Food Beat, La Phaze, Cancer Bats, Sidilarsen, and Celkilt. Each edition also reserves a prominent place for local bands and emerging talent showcases, allowing the burgeoning scene to reveal itself to an enthusiastic audience.
With a controlled capacity, La Voix du Rock offers what large festivals can no longer provide: an authentic proximity between artists and the public. Families, regulars, and newcomers mingle in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. On-site, varied catering, a refreshment stand, merchandise, and cashless bracelet payment ensure festival-goers' comfort. Access to the site is easy from the N10 (exit 39), making Couhé an ideal crossroads between Poitiers, Niort, and Angoulême.
Carried by the Vox Populi association, created under the 1901 law to promote heritage and culture in rural areas, La Voix du Rock is much more than just a musical event. It is a true cultural and economic driver for the Valence-en-Poitou territory and the entire south of Vienne. Volunteers, local partners, and local authorities unite each year to bring this human and musical adventure to life, contributing to the commune's influence far beyond departmental borders.
ℹ️ 2026 Edition cancelled. The 11th edition of La Voix du Rock, originally scheduled for June 5 and 6, 2026 at Abbaye de Valence, was cancelled on May 11, 2026 by the organizing association Vox Populi. The reasons cited are an insufficient level of pre-sales to ensure economic balance, combined with a sharp increase in technical, security, logistics, and artistic fees. See you in 2027.
ℹ️ The 11th edition of La Voix du Rock, scheduled for June 5 and 6, 2026 at Abbaye de Valence in Couhé (Valence-en-Poitou), will not take place.
The Vox Populi association published its cancellation statement on May 11, 2026, explaining that "the level of pre-sales is insufficient and does not allow for economic balance" and also pointing to the sharp increase in costs (technical services, security, logistics, artistic fees).
The first names that had been teased over the previous weeks (including La Phaze, Cancer Bats, Ultra Vomit, Deuxième Étage, Ravage Club, Celkilt, Opium du Peuple, Bob's Not Dead, Sidilarsen) will therefore not perform at the Abbaye de Valence site this year.
