Le Chant des Chimères

An equestrian concert in the land of chimeras

On the heights of Saint-James, at the entrance to the village, a unique show unfolds every summer: Le Chant des Chimères. Created by the company Chimères et Singulières, this equestrian concert transports spectators into a poetic universe where song, dance, and equestrian art blend harmoniously. Enchanted by the guardian horse linking nature and humans, the audience experiences a suspended moment out of time.

The company Chimères et Singulières

Founded in December 2019 by Lucie Lebey, an equestrian artist and musician, the company Chimères et Singulières brings together different arts around a magical place: the Ferme des Chimères, on the heights of Saint-James. Monique Lemoine, lyricist, composer, and musician, writes songs for Lucie and her horses, forming the artistic core of the company. In 2021, Margot Fleury, singer and lyricist, joined the adventure.

An art of respect and encounter

The company multiplies artistic projects and creates poetic and technical shows where respect for others, whether human or animal, is at the center of all creations. The violin, accordion, singing, dance, equestrian art, and aerial apparatus are all languages used to tell stories of encounters between beings.

An exceptional natural setting

The show takes place outdoors, on the heights of Saint-Benoît, at the entrance to Saint-James. This bucolic site offers an exceptional panorama of the Norman countryside and, in clear weather, a breathtaking view of Mont-Saint-Michel. A heated marquee welcomes spectators in the Place Thomas Becket, ensuring comfort even in bad weather.

A show for the whole family

Le Chant des Chimères is a show accessible to all ages. Children are amazed by the grace of the horses and the poetry of the scenes, while adults appreciate the artistic quality and the emotion that emanates from each performance. Performances take place on Thursday afternoons and Friday evenings, from mid-July to the end of August.
