Le Grand Complet

A quarter century of eventing at Le Pin

For several years, Le Grand Complet was the only leg of the Eventing Nations Cup organized in France. The Ustica association managed it for approximately 25 years, with the last editions taking place at the Haras national du Pin from 2010 onwards. Each summer, the competition brought together high-level riders and horses at the historic site of the "Versailles of the horse," in Orne, Normandy, for the dressage, cross-country, and show jumping events characteristic of eventing.

An event now discontinued

After a final edition organized in August 2022, Le Grand Complet disappeared from the calendar in 2023 and 2024, against a backdrop of deteriorating relations between the Ustica association and the management of Haras du Pin. Ustica ultimately announced the definitive discontinuation of the event.

What future for eventing at Haras du Pin?

Independently of Ustica, the Haras national du Pin is working to relaunch an international eventing competition at its Pôle international de sports équestres (PISE). However, this will be a distinct event, managed by the Haras itself and not using the name "Le Grand Complet."
