International eventing competition at the Haras national du Pin
Le Grand Complet is one of the largest equestrian events organized in France. Established in 2010 at the Haras national du Pin, nicknamed the 'Versailles of the horse', this international eventing competition brings together the world's best riders each year for the 'equestrian triathlon', combining the three disciplines of eventing: dressage, cross-country, and show jumping.
Le Grand Complet is the only Nations Cup for eventing organized in France. This competition is an essential stage in the world calendar for medal-winning riders such as Christopher Six, Nicolas Touzaint, and Karim Laghouag, as well as for all top international riders. The event features competitions ranging from 2-star to 4-star, attracting thousands of spectators and professionals from the equestrian world.
The highlight of Le Grand Complet's history at Le Pin was the organization of the 2023 European Eventing Championships, establishing the site as one of Europe's most important for this discipline. This event showcased the exceptional facilities of the Haras national du Pin and Normandy's expertise in equestrian organization.
The Haras national du Pin offers an incomparable setting for eventing. Its cross-country course, laid out in the rolling hills and woods of the 1,100-hectare estate, is considered one of the most beautiful and technically challenging in Europe. The dressage arena and the show jumping arena complete a set of top-tier sporting facilities.
Created in 2000 by the Ustica association, Le Grand Complet was first organized at other venues before finding its home at Le Pin-au-Haras in 2010. After more than 25 years of organization, the event experienced an interruption in 2024 and 2025. A return is hoped for in 2026, potentially in a new format, demonstrating the commitment of local stakeholders to maintain this international sporting event in Orne.
