About Le Grandchamp'Bardement

Le Grandchamp'Bardement is a solidarity festival of street arts and music created in 2003 in Grandchamp-des-Fontaines, Loire-Atlantique. Born from the initiative of young residents, this annual September event combines street performances, concerts, and solidarity for the benefit of disabled children. Each edition takes over the Jardins d'Ashton Keynes for a family weekend mixing juggling, acrobatics, pyrotechnic shows, and musical evenings. Supported by 45 members and over 500 volunteers, the festival donates its profits to associations for children with disabilities.

A festival born from solidarity

The Grandchamp'Bardement was born in 2003 from the initiative of a group of young residents from Grandchamp-des-Fontaines and surrounding towns. Their ambition: to create a family event combining a cultural event accessible to all with concrete actions for disabled children. Since its creation, the association has donated over 40,000 euros to structures supporting children with disabilities, such as the French Angelman Syndrome Association (AFSA), the Hamadryade association, Handisup, and the T'Cap collective. In 2009, the association was nationally recognized during the Atout Soleil operation organized by Générali, alongside 13 other French associations, for its actions in favor of disabled children.

Street arts in the Jardins d'Ashton Keynes

Each year, on the second weekend of September, the Jardins d'Ashton Keynes, located in the heart of Grandchamp-des-Fontaines, transform into a vast space for creation and performance. Over 40 shows are offered throughout the weekend: juggling, acrobatics, tightrope walking, street theater, circus, and a pyrotechnic show by Manda Light traditionally conclude the evenings. Companies come from all over France to offer shows accessible to all ages, from toddlers to adults.

Concerts and musical evenings

The festival also offers two evenings of concerts that have hosted renowned artists over the editions: Yannick Noah, Charlie Winston, Superbus, Les Tambours du Bronx, Boulevard des Airs, Jérémy Frérot, Ko Ko Mo, Malted Milk, Joseph Kamel, Maheva, and DJ Zebra. The Friday and Saturday evenings mix concerts on the main stage, DJ sets, and a festive atmosphere late into the night.

A strong associative commitment

The Grandchamp'Bardement association is now driven by a board of 45 permanent members, all volunteers — employees, retirees, young and old, women and men. During the festival period, over 500 volunteers mobilize for the organization. The founding values of the festival are solidarity, civic-mindedness, passion, commitment, sharing, and authenticity. Each year, two associations supporting children and adolescents with disabilities are financially supported through the festival's proceeds.

An eco-responsible and accessible festival

Le Grandchamp'Bardement is committed to an eco-responsible approach with the recycling of 900 kg of waste, partnerships with ENCOVA for cigarette butt collection and Bouchons d'Amour. The festival uses a cashless payment system via wristband. Accessibility is at the heart of the project: elevated platform for wheelchairs, disabled parking spaces on request, and a special rate for CMI holders. The festival welcomes approximately 14,000 festival-goers over the three days.
