For over a decade, the town of Villefranche-du-Périgord has hosted its Amateur Theatre Festival, a spring event that features amateur theatre groups from the region. Organized by the Villefranche-du-Périgord town hall, the festival takes place at the Foyer Rural on several Saturday evenings between March and May.
A Program Full of Laughter
Each edition invites four troupes to present their creations: sketches, short plays, theatre pieces, and farces. Laughter is the common thread of the programming, offering spectators evenings of pure entertainment. Performances start at 8:30 PM at the Foyer Rural, in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
A Loyal Gathering
The festival has carved out a place for itself in the cultural calendar of the Périgord Noir, attracting a loyal audience edition after edition. The low ticket price (6 euros) makes theatre accessible to all.
